Here's the classic where Vetsak chooses Taute ahead of Willie at fullback and calls JJ the best centre prospect he has seen world wide. Blunders don't come much bigger than that, unless it's getting 3 of 12 predictions right.

No Moz, Taute only played a handful of games this year and I have seen what he has to offer so no questions exists with his talents as far as I am concerned.

As for JJ, there are no more or less issue with his defence as there are any other centres like Serfontein or Jean. JJ is the best 13 prospect I have seen in years and that includes the world over. As far as I am concerned there is no debate regarding the Bok 13 spot at all........no other candidates come close.

I like Willie at 15, but we dont have any wings coming through and I'd rather have Willie and Taute in my starting side, than Willie at 15 and AN Other on the wing.

No Moffie I stand by those calls. I wanted Taute and Willie in the side at the time and JJ is by far the best SA 13 prospect I have seen in years.
All very plausible unlike the ignorant call of Kriel at 7 or Cilliers at 3
Coward I see you are still lying about my predictions you pathetic excuse of a man

I agree with regards to JJ, I would like to seehim partner Serfontein. I actually watched a little clip of him yesterday and do not understand why he is not on tour.

As for Taute, he showed promise prior to his injury, now I am not so sure of him.

He is not on tour for the same reason Morne is not at 10 and Lood is not in the 23... he lost the TN decider last year. Since then he has done nothing....mostly because he isn't a competitor. You don't do nothing in almost 20 S15 games if you are a competitor.

Moffie stop lying......JJ has never come close to losing us any game......he was fantastic with ball in hand in the very test you say he lost us......that's how pathetic you are.

He beat Savea with pure skill and through a great wrong side pass to set Willie up only to have useless Morne cock the try up. In the same test he beat Cruden with a step and ran straight through Conrad Smith.

But good old Moffie will tell you that JJ was responsible for missing Barrett, despite the fact that Jean botched things up with his rush, throwing the defensive line out of alignment.....that was followed by Morne being the inside defender on Barrett going high and missing him, leaving JJ who was covering wide, having to adjust and try tackle Barrett......he could only go high and missed him. But given Moffie's prejudice against the JJ, Jean and Morne were absolved of guilt.

But even better than this is the crap about JJ overrunning a poor pass by Morne and best of all him beating Cruden on the half time whistle and being isolated......this after his flyhalf and captain passed him the ball with every intention of using the ball to attack.

Moffie, go check the highlights clip about. That is what we need at centre....not some washed up has been in Jean who only looks to crash ball and is depriving Serfontein of his rightful spot at 12.

If Meyer had, had any brains, Serfontein and JJ would have been an established test centre combo by now with de Allende getting plenty of game time to

Saffex, why do you bother? So what if Moffie watches a clip . . . this is the fool who can't even tell Francois Hougaard from Jaco Taute . . . and doesn't even know what position has what number on the back.

I honestly don't know why you (and ou Maaik) spend so much time and energy arguing with this doddering old windbag. Just sit back and have a laugh every time he makes a fool of himself.

Quite correct Moz, JJ flopped in the Super 15. Now it may have had something to do with the bulle style of rugby as remember Sadie also looked bad until he moved from Loftus.JJ definitely has talent but has not shown enough to have made the Bok test team as a center. His defence is definitely weak and his tackles powder puff stuff.
What should have happened is he that he should have been included as a wing - which looks like his best position - who can cover center if needs be.  Meyer is possibly worried about a quota backlash?
rooitwit you windbag do you actually believe what you have just posted. bwhahahahahahaha

"leaving JJ who was covering wide, having to adjust and try tackle Barrett......he could only go high and missed him."

Nonsense. Barrett came right at him while still battling to shrug off Morne. JJ didn't even have to move to get to him and he was focused on Barrett even while Morne was still trying to make his tackle.

Could only go high? Why? See where he's looking? At Barrett's face. He simply never focused on making a low tackle, which was perfectly possible. He wasn't stretched - he was simply waiting for a guy coming right at him.

End result - JJ waves him through for the score. Look, all three the guys involved messed up. You can't excuse the final tackler. JJ had a simple head-on tackle to make. Had he gone low he would have stopped him.

I'm guessing he was trying to prevent the offload, but the two guys outside were covered man on man. The Boks outnumbered the ABs 5-3 out back. There should never have been a try.

This si the most foolish issu that can be raised on this site.   Quoting what people wrote in the past is actually a huge lot of hogwsh.   Players with good prospects shows a change in their performances - a decline or improvement - and then brings up that issue now  is like saying - WHEE two years ago you said that about a player.
It is childish and really not what we should discuss on this forum.  What really is pertinent is what happns at present and what we forsee would happen in future.   This living in the past is sickening and absolute rubbish.
Mozart is a good one to cackle about this type of thing.  His assessment of players is piss poor - a man that can assess and advocate like Francoi Steyn had a good Super 15 this year and should have been the Springbok flyhalf - knows nothing about the game of rugby in any event.
I am not going to respond any furher on this kind of BS.  It is childish and he seems to me thtat Mozart is "Kens"  like they said about older people in Afr ik aans.

Oh what rubbish Pakie, show the video clip you pathetic pictures tell the story in stages with plenty of gaps......try again and do a proper bloody job......how bloody weak.

JJ is covering wide, has to turn and try tackle Barrett after Morne did his usual thing and miss his man.

JJ having to adjust was never in position to effect a low tackle, he had to go high as a last grasp.

Primary offender was Jean, followed by Morne and lastly JJ - FACT

Mozart is obviously excinerating Jean de Villiers and morne Steyn from any responsiility forth Barrett try.
First of all  De Villiers did something that is causing more and more in backline defence of the Springboks - he charged out of line - leaving a gap inthe defnse.   That is a crdinal mistake by any backline player.
Secondly Morne is obviously not to blame even thoughhis defense that day stank to high heaven.   Have a look at his stats for that match:-
Steyn0/175/32/31501007/40/000/0
Morre  is such a solid dfender - he missed two tackles from which the AB's scpored tries amongst his 4 missed tackles.   Mozart wil never admitit - but his hero Morne has had a missed tackl ratio of 36,36% in that game.   He kept on harping about Francois Steyn as the ideal Bok flyhalf - even thoug Frnsie had nearly as bad a missed tackle ratio iin Super 15 and sabotaged the Sharks backline completely.
Mozart is not harping o the Pollard issue - but kept on wanting to go back to Morne after the Argentine tests - because Morne is such a safe flyhalf.   So while we are at it - lets look at Morne's Stats in the Aussie game in Perth:-

Steyn0/0188/9/0000018/70/010/0
After te game our guru wrote that Morne had a solid game and only made unexplicably the one bugger-up that caused SA too lose the game.    Anyway a missed tackle ratio of 46,67% represents according to him a solid game.   He even went on to blame the team for not defending properly and allowing the Aussies to score a try.  St Morne is sublime according to him and the present blabbering about Pollard sounds very false after his previous statements that by 2016 Pollard may be redy for playing for the Springboks.
So why should we ever tke anything he says seriously?

Err...yes, that's why I said all three guys involved messed up. Glad we agree about something.

Here's a motion image. See how Barrett's outside break to avoid Morne takes him straight into JJ's arms? By the time he gets to JJ the latter had already turned and was balanced and in a position to make the tackle. Barrett also had the ball under his right arm so he couldn't even hand JJ off. Powderpuff stuff, he barely made an effort .

Yes Mike, about as silly and childish as the next essay you're going to write about how "deficient" you think Morne or Victor or Fransie or Alberts are. Oh wait, you already did it in this thread. Again.

So why is it not okay for me to post an a-nalysis of a past incident, but you can post essentially the same rants about the same 4 or 5 guys you don't like on a weekly basis?

Why is it okay for people to post videos of JJ's 2013 highlights? Is that not history either? Come on, this is a rugby site and we're talking rugby and JJ is still a current issue as he is a contracted Springbok that isn't part of the squad.

If we're not allowed to raise history on this site, don't let me catch any of you talking about the Ireland game on Monday. It will be history by then, nothing we say will change anything. Or about Danie Gerber. Or the NZ Cavaliers tour. Or Currie Cup or S15 performances. All history folks, it's childish to bring up those matters. We can't use past player performances as a benchmark anymore for it is history and not to be discussed here. Mike has spoken.

That will take cae of most of Mozart's favourites.   Jannie will head the list, but included will also be Willem Alberts - a regular - Morne Steyn, Victor Matfield and Jean de Villiers.

BB I think JJ tackles leave a lot to be desired. They tend to be powder puff. Its not just one incident. He could get better so we shall see. Certainly he will defend better on the wing.Lood has put in a great number of very good tackles. He is nice and mobile and at 125 kg he packs some punch. He will only get better as he is only 21. To dismiss Lood now is folly.

I accept JJ needs to improve his tackling technique, but to does Cornal Hendricks, Willie le Roux and a number of others. Why does Meyer drop JJ when others have similar issues?

BB you can't have too many weak tacklers. If Hendricks doesnt improve he will go. Willie has been reasonable.JJ has been around for a while now and has had plenty of Super 15 experience as well. The ball is in his court. He has  lot of talent and one hopes he comes right. He will do fine on the wing but the jury is out re his center play.IMHO

BB I'm at a loss....what does he bring to the attack? He is not an exceptional passer, he has a standard step, he can't break tackles. More importantly he doesn't get himself into dangerous positions. His awareness is not great. Take the incident from the same test where he was stripped leading to the AB half time try. He steps inside into the cover and away from his support, gets knocked over, right at Reid's feet. No awareness.

Look it's very, very simple. If this guy is a geat attacking player it woulds show up somewhere in the sixteen odd games he played for the Bools this year. Blaming his total toothlessness on the Bools style of play is a cop out.
