A tight five of Ktshoff, Marx, Malherbe, Eben and Snyman has a very solid look to it. Snyman takes no lip and really competes. Big unit and will mix it with anyone, nice off load as well. Use the highly respected Mostert as an impact player who will be useful later when the game gets looser.

Whitelley did enough also to cement his place and of course Du Toit has been widely acknowledged to have been outstanding as that astute pundit Beeno has always said. Some posters here need to pay closer attention to what Beeno posts!


Allende proved again he is our top inside center and Kriel showed he can do a job for us on the wing. Am had a good game and deserves to stay on. BUT how serious are the injuries to these two?

Kolbe let in one try and scored one via an intercept underlining he is a gamble that may or may not come off. He could make a world class scummie but no signs of that happening.


What a shame the world class Akkers has not been given a shot. Really dangerous player that would be ideal off the bench.


Rassie has the core of a side but there are guys who need to come in.Jean Luc when he vs fit for Louw is one such player. Vermuelen for games against tough packs. For pap packs lvke NZ keep Whiteley who helps cover the backline etc.

Nkosi must come back to the squad when fit.

Damian is no loss. We need to be looking at an alternative to backup Esterhuizen. I agree though, Snyman gives the pack an edge. I want him starting. Mostert doesn't do it for me. I haven't been impressed with him in any of these tests.

Organhuffer, Allende is a better all round center, has more polish and to quote ou Cheaser is more balanced!Mostert has, Like Whiteley a huge engine and makes a great number of tackles. Just lacks a bit of grunt. immense respect for Mostert. He has plenty of pace for a lock and gets around working very hard. Could be ideal in 30 minutes of a game?Eben and Snyman will have the wee abs wetting themselves! Bet they are not looking forward to Loftus! A second defeat would be devastating to them!

Damian is still far from polished. He seems to be contributing more, but that's because Rassie now, since Australia, has the 12 in a few setups where he angles in off 9. That's where most of his carries come from. It's sort of like what Wales do. That carry angling in is what they used with Roberts - amongst others - to pull defenders in. They would do that repeatedly. Damian is not as effective in doing this as Esterhuizen would be. He was nowhere against New Zealand. What were these polished contributions? One run against New Zealand? Where were the big hits? Esterhuizen was thumping out of the way and has a wider range of effective tackles. Damian is a myth. We never seem to be without one in every team we field.

Esterhuizen's effective tackles is very few and far between and he missed altogether too many tackles.    He is a crashballer and  really  pace-deficient.    He will break through a few tackles - but that is where it ends.   

I have nightmares about the next two tests with him at 12,  He is not really a good enough center since he has such a limited game,  I have been watching him since 2014 at the Junior WC - where he was a liability at center and one of the main reasons that England beat SA in the final.   Since then he was in and out of the Sharks team and only used  when Fat Fransie was not available.   Like Plumtree said of Fat Fransie "he is no center" - so did Jake White thought when he tried him as a loosie,.

Cite one poor tackle. He knocks players back in the tackle. Damian has very few instances where then runner doesn't get behind him and free for an offload. Very few. I've never seen Damian knock anyone back and he has no stopping power whatsoever against forwards. As I showed with the England 2nd test, he has flawed technique. This is compounded by his weak upper body. On attack? He had easy front foot ball against Australia, Nice easy hitups without a rush. In the flyhalf position, as Clever Mike would say. What else has he done? What has he created? Where is he in critical moments? No. Damian is not on the same level as Esterhuizen.

Listen dream on and prove to yourself the hogwash you wrote - most people would think it is indeed hogwash.   You can dream as much as you like of strong tackles and forget about his low tackle count and high missed tackle ratio  - nothing would make him a better crashballer with defense deficiencies you do not want to recognize.

I do that regularly. How about you? Esterhuizen is a significantly stronger crashballer. Its seems Rassie gets this too. When he really wants to pack a punch with a centre, and Esterhuizen isn't playing, he goes to Kriel. He also does it better. Meyer did the very same thing.

Meyer had many cases of utter BS selections and his team never ever won an away game against the AB's and one in four years at home.   His coaching was BS.

I do not think you ever realize how Meyer buggered up SA rugby and the fact that you supported him shows zero rugby knowledge.

Organhuffer it also appears Am played better with Allende as his center partner. Allende is a better passer of the ball as well. Esterhuizen charges forward and then goes to ground most of the time.

Beans, I like the idea of Snyman starting with Mostert on the bench. When the game is tight, as test matches generally in the first 40, a power pack is a great advantage. Snyman and Etzebeth are just the locks for such a power pack. What are your thoughts on Lood when he comes back?

I know the question about De Jager is for Beeno - but I am going to answer of how I think De Jager is a must for the springbok team when he returns to play after injury.  

There is little difference between De Jager and Snyman physically - but in reality there are three slight differences that makes him being a better choice than Snyman, namely -

*   De Jager is to my mind a cleverer player than Snyman;

*   De Jager is a harder all-round worker in The tight loose and wider out as well; and

*   De Jager is slightly more pacey than Snyman as was proven when he scored a recent try in a Super Rugby match where he kept pace with quite a number of NZ backline players.

I rate Snyman highly and from a physicality point of view prefer him to Mostert.   

However, there is another point that needs attention and that is even more important than a change at lock.  That is the fact that we come short in respect of ball protection and recovery at breakdowns with the ultimate prize of making turnovers.    Marx was very effective - but he has been neutralized in recent tests and he needs back-up.   For t hat back-up we needs players like De Jager and Marcell Coetzee in the set-up.

Bluebok i prefer the more abrasive Snyman. He is a pretty well rounded lock, even has a great off load. With Lood back we are well stocked re locks.

Mostert though has one advantage you can play him for the entire game and he will still be firing till the final whistle.

Anyhow Loftus is the home ground of Snyman so give him a chance to start.

We are back in the same place....Allende wasn't anywhere near the ball.....the guy who made the turnover was Am. Remember him Tokkie...no...perhaps this may jog your memory: '....players who are below international standard and at best questionable selections – Mostert. Kolisi, Whiteley and Am'. Another big fat blooper you dropped before the test.

And yours were Malherbe, Du Toit and De Allende.   Two of them made the Team of the Week  of two websites and De Allende was the runner-up.   That shows how despicably poor your ruby knowledge really is.  Not a blooper - a real pet hate programme.   Problem was all three threatened you favourites when it came to selection four years ago.  That hate campaign has been go ing on since then.  

Remember your hype about Louw three weeks ago - when he really buggered up the game.   Now I am suggesting Louw's replacement by Marcell Coetzee,   I know what your comments will be in advance.  I know when he was selected ahead of Louw -  you went ballistic and how you have attacked him the same  as the other younger players.  So get going = it is an early warning that another of your pet hate players may become involved.

I did not credit him - all  the Media and websites did.  I do look at games objectively - you with a  view to find ways of misrepresenting what happen on the field of play to deride your pet hate players.

That there is never any objectivity in what you write about players.   There is 100% prejudice that decide on everything 

I want for example remind you = Louw and Du Toit made exactly the same mistake in tests and you claim there was a mythical difference exonerating Louw.  That is why one can never trust your game descriptions - it is not objective ever and you do not mind to lie about thing of you cannot find any other way.

It is also why Malherbe is wearing the 3 jersey and not Louw. Rassie does at times get things right and with those two he has.

Marx try came off a lineout drive. Where did Damian contribute to his try? 

What else did he do in the game? He had one carry. Very little defence. If you have anything contrary to these things, I'd love to hear it. As it stands though, Esterhuizen has outplayed Damian handily. That in spite of Damian's free runs at first receiver against a passive Aussie defence.

Herr Drache, I must remind you that there are only so many times we can reattach your rectum before you will have a colostomy bag for life! Keep that blood pressure down. There's a good chap.

Here we can see Damian heavily involved in winning the turnover at the ruck leading up to Willie's try.

He even contributed to Marx's try

Damian joined the maul, binding to Marx. As they went round Marx broke clear away from Damian to score unassisted while Damian, head down, continued driving straight into Kitschoff.

Now one would ask....given Turncoat was wrong about Tractor contributing to the Marx try and Tokkie was wrong about the Tractor in the Willie try.....why would they not be wrong about their Tractor ratings. Hell those were the first points they raised in support of him. All these'strong runs'and 'rugged defence' claims are bogus. Best that can be said is he never screwed up....probably because that opportunity didn't arise.
