...Poor Vermulean the SA public have such ridiculously high expectations of him given the headline...he tried to get out of playing in the RC but SA will not have it.. so you have to wonder whether his hearts in it...

Cape Town - Rassie Erasmus has called up emergency reinforcements in the form of Duane Vermeulen, who he has asked to join the Springboks in Wellington, New Zealand, on September 15, ahead of the squad's Test against the All Blacks.

City Press' sister publication Rapport can confirm that Vermeulen's Japanese club side, the Kubota Spears, will not refuse a formal request from the SA Rugby Union (SARU) for the club to release Vermeulen for the Test. This is despite the fact that the Spears, coached by Frans Ludeke, had hoped that Vermeulen would play in all seven of their most important league matches.

The initial arrangement between Vermeulen and SARU was that he would miss the Rugby Championship because of his contractual obligations to the Spears. He was meant to only be considered again for the European tour at the end of the year.

But Erasmus' plans recently changed owing to, among other factors, injuries to loose forwards Cyle Brink and Jean-Luc du Preez.

@Traditionalist- Let's burn and terminate everything. Yawn.

No. Lets terminate SA rugby. Do not terminate the funding associated to it though.

Allocate it to rugbys with a future, like AR and KE rugbys. They play good rugby and they are local, contrary to the globalist schemed SA rugby.

It wont make any difference to SA people as they are so used to channel their wealth outside their own country.

And it will help the future of rugby.

Yes to equality of output, no to equality of opportunity.

SA rugby had many opportunities to develop a successful localized rugby. They were granted encouragement tokens like two WCs.

SA rugby failed.

Time to move on. Time to think of rugby's best interests. A better future will come from SA rugby termination.

Stop hating on rugby. Do what it is needed.

So Trad, where did the players who won the 2 SA RWCs come from? ...or are only black players local?

What determines a local? Time? Black South Africans migrated to the region from the north, when they were out muscled.

More communist drivel, a bit like the Zimbabwe rugby team that had to sleep in the street as preparation for the World Cup Qualifiers- and beg their way across customs.
The IRB eventually picked up the tab, such was the extent of embarrassment .

Players coming from SA do not translate into a localized rugby.

Rugby in SA is a globalist scheme. Players do not even understand their national anthem.

The approach of rugby in SA is so globalist that SA rugby must import non white players from other countries to try and hide the fact that SA rugby is the product of a globalist effort.

ZI, CO, GH players in the team... Next step is to import KE so to hide that SA rugby is globalist, not localized rugby.

No, non white players playing for the SA team does not mean localized rugby.

SA rugby failed to localize rugby. It has no roots. It is not a tradition.

Time to terminate rugby in SA.

The traditionalist banging his tribal drum with the termination of rugby with his one and only broken record.
