I actually watch on of Rassies team discussion when he was talking to the players and he spoke to the players and their path to becoming a Springbok and pointed that they all had a long journey to get where they are right now and no one really handed it to them on plate. 

It was important for the team to understand that and what it means to be a Springbok and who you are doing it for. 

It probably also helped him as form bok and a windgat that could have probably played more games. 

That said, I think his mentally preparation of the team was excellent
