Rassie to back youth
‘We couldn’t play’ he says. But Argentina could, Australia could, New Zealand could ….here’s a bet, the young player thing stops as soon as we have stern opposition or lose a few.
We could not play tests in 2020 due to th e extremely strict Covid rules implemented bym the Government in SA. Two people could not ravel in one car other than with th e one sitting on the back seat and the ther being the driver. Travelling into parts of cities and towns were aqlso prohibited and now contact sport was allowed in SA at all until th ee wweeks befor th e start of the tournament Mozart referred to. Some players from foreign clubs playing for the Springboks were stuck in Europe and Japan.
The SARU Board and not Erasmus decided on non-participation in tests in 2020 and nto Erasmus - but BSting Mozart is the only idiot blaming Erasmus for the Springboks not aprticipating in 2020 tests. .When did Erasmus say "We couldn’t play" as claimed by BSting Bertie ? It definitely was not reported in any SA media so it was just another BS lie invented by a prejudiced rugby idiot. .
When did Erasmus say "We couldn’t play" as claimed by BSting Bertie ?
Ehm, Erasmus is quoted saying it right there in the article Dave posted.
Yes, he said it and the decision might even have been his...you can't play test rugby with 2 weeks practice after sitting at home for more than six months...the Boks asked for a postponement of the competition of about 2 weeks IIRC...NZ refused, then we refused to play without proper preparation...player's wellbeing is more important than silly board squabbles...I support Rassie 100% with that call...the responsible call...
Well as the world was locked down in Covid, my respect goes to the Nations that understood rugby would be a welcome lift to everybody’s spirits. Pity Eluckmiss put his own selfish interests ahead of the times.
’Many of the Argentine players have already arrived in Australia but there are ongoing concerns about the Springboks' lack of preparation, with their players only just resuming Super Rugby after a six month delay due to COVID-19.
The Springboks haven't played together since winning the World Cup final against England in Japan last November.
SA Rugby issued a statement over the weekend, saying there were still "hurdles" to clear before they could confirm they will play.
"The Springboks ability to participate in the Rugby Championship would be finalised early next week," the statement said.
"The team is due to defend its title in Australia between 7 November and 12 December, but several hurdles needed to be cleared if it's to be confirmed."
There is speculation that Rassie Erasmus, who coached the Springboks to the World Cup last year and is now director of rugby, will cite "player welfare" as the reason for their late withdrawal.’
… .
So obviously if the ‘hurdles were cleared’ we would have played. No problem with player welfare. But we didn’t get what we wanted.
Rephrased, we didn’t think our preparation could be adequate….so screw the fans, cite player welfare and head for the hills,
The chicken run.
Chicken run se gat...you are deliberately looking to blame Rassie...after covid, why don't you blame NZ for not wanting to give the Bokke another 2 weeks?...
Mavin
Why the name change after disgracing the great compose Mozart for ages by usig his name as a user name and disgraing it?
Is it not time to stop the abuse of facts by you as a result of prejudice. Your comments as to the 2020 non-participation of the Sringboks has bend ealt with at least 50 ties on thsi site and mn everyc ase you were clearly on the wrong side of the issue as is normal wih you. Will you neve learn? .
Sorry these name changes result in some content being lost. Who are you again? You write like a chappie on the verge of senility…, ‘disgraing’ hahaha….I bet you wished you could be ‘disgraid’(sic).
But I’m sensing another theme in your posting….are you perhaps a government worker? Yes? Well don’t you have some money grabbing scam to attend to, rather than torturing these good posters with your garbled English?
Go darn a sock, Mavis.
I buy new ones (sic)nek….but I guess in your circumstances darning socks makes sense.
Go do the laundry, Mavis.
Actually people do my laundry. But back to the socks. With those bloated, smelly feet you should really reconsider darning (sic). Buy some new socks. Consider it a small gift to those around you.
Go brush the toilet, Mavis.
Ah back to the posterior and related equipment. Make yourself happy. Go smell some male tailpipe (sic).
