Looking at the performance of the SA props in scrumming, I was very unhappy about the whole lot.   Te strugglers toay was all on the losing sides - so what is the real problem?

Insofar as Tightheads are concerned we used Dreyer and Wilco Louw last year in the tests and when Dreyer failed miserably all our hopes was placed on Wilco Louw,, because he was at least an improvement on Dreyer,   However Louw has had a string of poor performances from a scrumming perspective this year.    Today was typical he tried to beat Jannie in retreating at speed  in scrums.  The first really good scrum today  was when Malherbe replaced him today.   The other Tigthead ome can look at is Du Toit.   His scrumming against the Highlanders was twice as good as the Lions did today against the same players.

The loosehead situation is equally bad,  Beast was anything but good today when he was scrumming against Nyakane.   Kitshoff was in the same - no-hp[e category as Beast

However, it would bee interesting to see which way Rassie goes with his prop selection.   Rassie would by now have studied all the props and  come up with a solution to the problem.   It maysurprise most of us as to what can materialize.

Malherbe scrummed against their reserve's reserve. We already know he is vulnerable. Wilco will be fine once he gets a. lock behind him and hooker next to him that can scrum. And as Blikkies mentioned a flank who also provides some support. Both Wilco and Kitshoff look tired out....they both could do with a match on the bench. The Beast was absolutely fine....copped one early hit ruling and a scrum around penalty, something I have very rarely seen him do. So stop worrying.

Seeing how the props were misfiring I would think that logical solution should have been replacing of the props earlier.

However - whether you like it or not the starting props were not performing well enough and to come up with all kinds of rubbish you come up with.   The Chiefs  replacement props also gave the starting props serious problems .

I'm more worried by the 5 times the Stormers' centres turned over the ball.

Notsoclevermike, you should be vey worrid about the fact that the site owners asked you to be more careful about your spelling in the subject line and even made changes to allow editing in the subject line but you're too still to dumb to spell and too inconsiderate to edit.
That would make me vey worrid.

Ou maaaikie if you had been paying attention you would have heard Mallet saying how badly the kiwi ref got it re Kitshoff, said it left a bad taste.

Personally not a fan of Wilco. Nyakane has improved and one can keep an eye on him.

Your pet hate centers find its way into an item into a discussion on props.   Keep to the topic please.

If you want to discuss the centers - please open another thread and start off by quoting the stats of the various centers .

I am on topic. This is a string about your worris(sic). I am viewing them in context.....our front row worris(sic) are less of a concern than our centre worris(sic). Comprende?
