Full back 

Of the 4 playing only Gelant had a half-decent display,   The yellow card of Bosch through stupidity cost his team the match - the Bulls scored two tries because he was absent from the scene  

Wings 

Combrinck was marginally better than the rest - not good enough by any standard,

Centers

Only Kriel and De Allende showed anything of substance.   Am was totally ineffective and got a yellow card as well

Flyhalfs   

Du  Preez and Pollard were very competitive and either of the two may be selected.   

Scrummies

Van Zyl was marginally better than any of the 3 playing - maybe the only choice is De Klerk after all

No 8

Only Dan du Preez showed anything 0 the rest substandard.   Kwagga is not a number 8 at all,

Loosies

Jean-Luc du Preez looked good - the rest was totally ineffective,   Schoeman or Kwagga at 6 - but Ko;isi was totally out of depth I am afraid.

Locks  

De Jager was  very good -  Snyman spoiled his copy book by a yellow card through rank stupidity and amongst a generally poor lot of forwards - Du Toit stood out.

Props

Both Louw and Kitshoff were poor and Beast went on a walk about in his first scrum and was duly penalized for it.   The Lions props both were poor and the only props who marginally did better was Du Toit of the Sharks and the Bulls starting 2,   Rassie has a serious problem here. 

Hooker

Akker was the only one showing anything - the rest was BS in capital letters

Rassie must be a very worried man after yesterday's display.    

Marx and Eben are vital cog in the Bok pack but could be missing against the Poms. Nevertheless Rassie can pick a good side.

Faf must be the scummie and Akkers has to come in at hooker. There is zero wrong with Kitshoff as he was penalized by a bent kiwi ref as Mallet explained.

Beeno

I doubt very much whether Etzebeth will even play in one match over the next two weeks and only fools like Meyer would pick him without any rugby this year.  The problem is not the locks  - he has De Jager and du Toit - the likely lock combination.

 I think it is win the main with the props and with the loosioes.   The props were seriously problematic yesterday - so lets leave that one alone.

The problem is with the loosies - we know Kolisi will be picked at 6 - but he is normally utterly useless - so we need a really strong 7 and 8.   I think J-L du Preez will be one - but where the hell are they going to find a strong candidate in the absence of Whiteley.  Vermeulen was poor for his club and he will bring nothing to the side the way he has performed over the last two years.   

Meyer was stupid and nobody but dolts will call him smart.   He was so poor in 2015 he got us to 6th position on the log with a long stream of losses between November 2014 and the Japan WC match.   

Reason - he kept too many players way pat their sell-by dates makig it impossible to develop replacements years ago.   .  .   

 No - not my strategy.  Logic demands in all  codes of team sport that there be a replacement program and Meyer had no such  program.   No coach worth his salt would allow for a situation where potential replacements have virtually no test experience.   That is why Meyer failed -  Hansen did exactly what I wrote here - Meyer did not, 

Fact I by 2015 Meyer's aging players were all off rugby and spent time in hospital wards before he picked them.    It was sporting madness that can only end in disaster.

Beside the above lunacy the ald players in the squad could not adjust to play according to what Meyer called his game plan and the younger ones had no experience of Meyer's 2004 game plan.  The result was inevitable - the result was NO game plan at all.   Totally unpro fessional.        

Duplication    

Full back 

Bosch had a good game, other than a moment of idiocy for the leg trip yellow. Bosch is an excellent player- other than tackling where is hopeless. One of the best kickers in the game, and he is one of the fastest players in South African rugby. He has a good step, and acceleration of the mark.

Gelant played well yesterday- as he has done for much of the season.

Andries Coetzee must be relegated to the scrap heap.

Wings 

Nkosi is looking good but needs more opportunities . Combrinck was marginally better than the rest - not good enough by any standard. 

Outside Centers

Jessica Kriel had a very good game, not just as a utility player. He appears to have learnt some good running lines at 13.

. Am was totally outplaed by Jessica.

Flyhalfs   

Pollard is the certain first choice. Jittery Jantjies and Hyde has returned.

Du  Preez and Pollard were very competitive and either of the two may be selected.   

Scrummies

A sad state of affairs. An SOS for Bougaard? No, not that bad. Faf, and Cronjie only options, but Cronjie is also hopelessly out of form.

No 8

Dan Dupreez needs to learn to catch and pass.

Loosies

Dumb-Luc du Preez also needs to learn to pass and catch. A clone of his brother. He seems to read the game well, but if he works on his offloads more.

Locks  

De Jager played well- as did Snyman.

Props

Beast is looking good this season, and Nykana was ok. Both Louw and Kitshoff were crap. Kitschoff has loafed around most of the tournament, probably overplayed.

Hooker

Akker should ideally be in the Bok Squad. (Instead of Steroid Boy Rappelle).
