Read ill may not play
The paper is very vague about Read's illness - but it leaves me with a serious problem as to my fantasy team selection. Hope there is some clarity later in the day or even tomorrow morning that would allow time for making a change.
Cloudy
Mt problem is that if Read has flu or a stomach bug it may take some energy out of him and even if he starts - he may be replaced early. If it is an injury he may not start and rather put on the bench by Hansen. So I think it would be better to change your captaincy and I may make other arrangement as to my LF combination.
At this stage I have Vermeulen on the bench - I may retain my selections and move Vermeulen from the bench to the starting line up - or make a change and replace Read with Luatua - a great favourite of mine.
According to the SA report on the issue - they seem to think that there will be larity on the issue of Read today - so maybe I should wait and see what happens by tomorrow morning - SA time. That would be roundabout midnight tomorrow NZ time.
Om the issue of Read - I saw an article in the New Zealand Herald that he has flue. If the team ha a medical advisor he should warn them not to play Read - flu itself is not a problem - but their can be nasty after-effects if he does play.
New Zealand is going to win anyway - so why play Read under those circumstances?
might have to play it safe and go with another heavy hitter instead.
@hakwa,
i agree bro, latimer should be called up too, but something tells me that age is now a factor with him.
it also dosent help that while he can play anywhere in the backrow, hes been mainly an openside flanker his whole career, and in NZ thats a death blow, cos king richie has been playing and winning the game of thrones for ages.
i also love the idea of messam at 8, but i was thinking that maybe luatua and should maybe slot in at 8???
IMO luatua is faster then messam, especially of the mark and having him run balls from the back of scrums could reap some serious rewards.
i also think that letting luatua expand his rugby CV will be a win win for player and team.
luatua will be able to show hansen, hey bro i can play 4 5 6 & 8 and i can play them at All Black level, so a spot on the 23 is almost always going to be assured.
and the team benefits cos its another class player for position adding to NZs unrivaled player quality depth.
no McCaw, no carter and possibly no read and still not a smidgen of worry
,,,,,,sigh,,,,,
life is good for NZ rugby fans, :o)
:o(
i feel for u bro, what a sad buzz, i think u should treat urself and get ur own copy, lolz.
yeah ive been jamming hard on GTA, its so freaking addictive and has taken a big chunk out of my sleeping and blogging time, LMAO, :oD
was meant to go out last night with my dinky di and soon as i lay on my bed all the lack of sleep i lost out on all week hit me and i was sleeping like the dead, so i wonder what the repercussions will be for that infraction, lolz.
im already counting the minutes before i hop back on, :oP
Read says that he will play today - but he is not 100% yet and may take it a bit quitter than normal - that is according to his statement as reflected in Rugby365.
That clears up one issue for me - he will be replaced early and is not to be in any fantasy team. Luatua - is going to replace him - but under the circumstances neither is really a good option in fantasy selection.
Sasu, Latimer is already in Argentina with the ABs!
