....says the Aussie commentator, after the ball was clearly knocked forward before the Sheehan non try. Fortunately the TMO was consulted....because the reffing team caught nothing. Not the deliberate knock down of a Sharks' pass in a dangerous move. Not the Sheehan off the ball stuff .

But it was a satisfying game for the Sharks. The commentators were clearly convinced, along with RooiAAS, that the Force was going to win......and produced laughable bleats like : " spectacular stuff by the Honey Badger". The bias settled down in the second half as it became clear the Sharks were going to win.

On the positive side Marcel Coetzee had a great game, du Toit added some urgency even if he didn't improve the scrums and Daniels did a lot of good things.

A word about Viljoen. I have never understood why this guy isn't better supported. Today he was close to the MOM with a faultless fullback display.

On the negative side,  JP is no centre. His failed tackle which resulted in the first try was just one example. And what is going on with Lambie. His kicking has gone from spectacular to just very good....and he hardly ever tries to beat a tackle. For me he is perhaps the most disappointing player of  the SA campaign, not because he is poor, but because he seemed set to be so much better.

Have to agree with you about Pietersen at 13 - he missed tackles last week and again a crucial one.   I think his defence at 13 is really suspect and the sooner he moves back to winng the better.

Viljoen is a very strong guy and he has in the past scored similar tries as he did today.  A very strong runner - and my preferred choice at full back in the absence of Ludick.

I do not have too many gripes about Lambie's performance.  He was solid and he missed two kicks at goal - but he made 5 accounting for 13 of the Sharks points.   He was playing mostly a passing game and his team was under pressure in the first half especially where he virtually never got a decent ball to play wih.   His fdefence was good.

Alberts played in stints - but was not convincing at all.   Something amiss in his case.   Ad he was injured again - so he has shown nothing yet to qualify for inclusion in the Springbok team.  I also think speed wise he always was a slowish player - it seemed as if he slowed down even further.

There was an immediate improvement in the performance of the Sharks when Du Toit came on and the forwards started to get over the advantage line.

Lambie is sliding into the Pierre Spies / Frans Steyn spark arrestor black hole. Needs to find his jive again - you know its bad when even the Aussie commentators are saying they would love to see him run the ball and that Bosman is showing him up with his creativity
