Wow, i just turned the game on. Not another game with illegal play & cards! All we want is a good game of rugby.
Hi Byrcy, lol

...a few selection headaches for Ewen McKenzie with an unprecedented amount of talent available...good for Aussie rugby given it's competing with soccer, league and aussie rules and not all that financially secure at the moment...

Hey JW, Qc injured but surely he isn't a contender for the Aussie 10 jersey anyways. Not the best way to celebrate yr 100th game though ...walking off injured...

Once Woodward gets Oz citizenship he will be a shoe-in for fullback. Guy is such a natural

Yeah, Cooper is too eratic for Wobblies IMO. Maybe coming off the bench when the wobblies are behind is a better option.

Damn Walsh & his chats with the players. Just tell them directly what was wrong, one reply from the player, case closed. Not this extended chat, slows the game down.

Walsh is the ref - oh NO - he always wants to have long chats with players and calls them "mate" and then brush his hair and then look at himself on the big screen. You watch. Those incidents will come in any order.

Hi Hakwa, walsh stops play just to see himself on the big screen, lol
Sometimes illegal play is not blown up because he mistakes his comb for his whistle.

...how disappointing have the Reds backs been this year...expected big things from them after their preseason game ...haven't heard from players like alofa alofa since...seems they need a few more league players in their team to add some strike power...

Haha you kiwis hate Walsh - never really found him a bad ref, not the best but seen far worse. Went through a bad patch, a sabbatical and then reappeared on the other side of the ditch

I don't think kiwis hate him - at least I know I don't. He's just one of those guys who is easy to make fun of. Overall he is rated as a pretty good ref. with very high ego gratification needs

Reds score. I have been watching a little ladies tennis. It has more oooph than these hapless Ozzies teams.Rugby starts again at just after 5 when the Mighty Stormers tread the illustrious Newlands turf. Got to win this one guys even with our second team.

Well I missed that as I was watching the more dynamic ladies tennis. However the TV guys in SA are saying Waslh made a shocking decision. Walsh of course is a kiwi.
Beeno winning this one hands down.

Beeno: those pink shoes you are wearing indicate you have been watching too much ladies tennis. But we are all relieved to see you don't have your nail polish on, lol
Walsh was in a tough spot, the TMO said it was an eye gouge & the TMO has the high resolution screen. Don't know what else walsh could have done.
PS does the offending reds player have SA ancestry?

Beeno, wasn't really Walsh. TMO called him back to a handbag incident where there seemed to be eye gouging. On slow mo looked worse of course but where else would you put your hand if you're having a scrap with a bloke on the ground??

Oh Beeno just admit it you love NZ. A reffing is just as incompetent, not just kiwi refs. How about the players not get themself into that posistion in the first place, then maybe those horrible refs wont be forced to play the corrupy card. But of course if fans cant take any respobsibility, cant expect ur so called world domination verge SA players todo so. Weekly SA players dive into rucks, offside, illegal scrummaginh tactics etc. But do we moan and moan? Nope we kno its just part and parcel of the game, being a ref it just comes with the terriotory that any cal. You make under all that pressure, is going to put under scrutiny. And especially when a call is controversial, it just amps it up particularly from butthurt SA and Oz Bloggers. But just because something is controversial does not mean the wrong call was made. Its just becoming part of the culture now to blame the ref for everything now, and its also part of the culture to think with kiwi refs, they are all corrupt, and its a big ol conspiracy theory, and its all fixed. When a NZ side loses heaven forbid, and a SA ref screws up, i can promise you one thing, i wont be blaming the ref its just part of the game. Players and Fans nedd to take some responsibility, instead of putting it soley on the refs, regardless of their nationality.

JW of course you try not to. My point is that in real time you put your hand up to push the players face away while you're having a wrestle on the ground. Your hand happens to land up high on  the face. Eye gouging is where you dig your fingers into the players eye sockets. I don't believe that happened at all or higginbotham would have been wriggling around in pain afterwards.. I'm just calling it like I saw it

We may never know for sure if it was eye gouging but it will be reviewed again by the officials because they will have to determine the length of his ban.
The ref officials will also review it to see if it was handled right by the ref and tmo. Bad for the game if this red card & controversy continues. Soon players will be wearing pantyhose & helmets like in the NFL, lol
