One could practically feel how every thing went our way in the final.

But to deny that luck/bounce/the gods weren't on our side is true folly.
Yes we "deserved" to win and were the better side on the day. Yet, if ever there was a more perfect storm, I've not see it. Nor will I ever.
You control what you can, prepare as well as you can and then take the opportunities...and luck coming your way...
Perfect storm indeed, but we did what we had to do...and we did it well too. We sort of had a hand in creating the storm too.
I don't think we lost to NZ on purpose. I just think we did not target that match as a "win at all cost" match. We probably planned around meeting them in the final...and if we beat them in the groups, we would have hardened the odds against us. We rarely beat NZ...almost never beat them twice a year (3 times back in 2009)..and we've beaten them last year and drawn this year...statistically we were probably better off losing, even if the Japs didn't upset their pool.
It was a delightful surprise......the Boks discarded all the bs and played Bok rugby. But the bs is still out there in the hearts and minds of fools like Cleverwanker....who wants to see seuntjies running gloriously through fields of gold.
As the Saders torch our teams with brilliant back play will we forget this game and make 'adjustments'.....the beginning of the rot?
This game will never be forgotten...it showed that we don't have to ape NZ to win...we can win playing our own game...as long as we play it well...and we don't have to type cast, we can put a good team in the field without conforming to the normal conventions for each position.

Sounds like the trip of a lifetime. Mexico City which I visited often is one of the great surprises, and very enjoyable if you are guided by locals. The Pyramid of the Sun complex, which is a short drive away, is one of the great sights!

All well Clouds, not even tempted to smoke again...almost 2 years now...and not even a sneez since I quit. Healthy as a horse.
Only one cruise Cloudy on a smaller yacht with about 80 passengers....depart Venice, Corfu, the port that serves Delphi, the Corinth Canal, a number of Greek islands and then Ephesus and Athens.
We were supposed to stop in Mykonos, but there was a huge wind blowing down the Aegean and a big swell, so they wouldn't risk it. I did my service in the navy and the motion never bothered me, but we had at least 70 passengers, my party included, who were pretty seasick. Passengers in the front cabins had beds made up in the lounge because they were being catapulted out of their beds.
Still it's a great way to see a lot of different sights.....wake up in the morning and there is something new.
