 You see, brother B, I asked that too on the Mr S threadington thingy.  But you understand how it looks from the owner's perspective, nê.  It is difficult because my Daddy is very headstrong and seldom accepts advice, nê.  Even if he says he will behave he cannot help himself he will swear and be racist because of my mother you know.  Such a pity that the other peoples here make him so cross with their nonsense posts.

 Coloured fred there are guys on here who bait Sa  ff ex knowing he has a short fuse. 
I dont approve of bad language but banning folk for it will kill a rugby board. The trouble also is a number of guys use bad language so where does this stop. Who is next. If nobody the it looks like favouritism . In the end the board dies.

It is true that people bait him and I don't think you realise the stuff he has had to put up with over the years. I think he had enough of it.

The question is why was he banned? Was it for one reason, or multiple reasons?
What ever the reason/s, if he is unbanned will he change to be in line with what is deemed acceptable.
It is a very open forum with minimal moderation, but their has to be some rules. Mainly because it is a commercial venture that is funded by advertising. 
The only reason we can all use this free service is because of the advertising which pays the bills. If you had a company and wanted to advertise, would you want to associate your brand with profanities, or rugby enthusiasts engaged in good banter about rugby? 
In the past the Editor has just asked to limit swearing, and that their is a zero tolerance policy on racism like calling people d utch m en.  Reading the other thread, it seems that the consensus is that these are the 2 most likely reasons for his banning.
For this board to grow it needs to attract more site members. Constant swearing and vulgar language is not good for this board.
I would like for Saffex to return, but as a frequent poster I am used to the S affex behviour and sometimes even taunt him to get a response.
However a new poster that gets sweared at or called stupid may be less resilient and just leave. 
The needs of the many outweigh the few. 

 So you think you can stop swearing on a rugby message board? Go and look at other boards - it goes on all the time. The board has grown nicely with S a ff ex here.

Beeno I seen or heard of a boards get closed down because of swearing and profanity. 
That is what apparently happened to the recent ABS All Blacks Forum. You yourself have seen boards shut down. 
I seem to recall you saying that another poster on this board was responsible for a certain board being shut down. Ring any bells?
The site admin must have some reasons.

Doubt he was banned for swearing. Doesn't make sense when there is a filter in place now.
My guess is it must have been whatever was going on with his baiting of Denny although I have no idea of the back story. A lot of posters on here seem to have long histories with each other and communicate outside the forum.

Sharkbok wake up man. If you are looking at things from a business perspective it is disasterous to ban rugby lovers like S a ff ex. As Cloudy says there are FAR worse than him.But take SA Rugby.net. They didnt like the tone of the rugby website. They closed the board. I would bet they lost 90 % of their traffic. Instead of banning the twits on AB.com who were apparently really awful (Like the two we had here Bok killa and some other moron) they closed the board. Wonder what sort of traffic AB .com gets these days.Supersport closed their rugby board. Mass departure of guys. They have now started the board again. Not nearly as vibrant as it  was and plenty of swearing. Wonder how much traffic they lost!!!kamp ss tried banning ruby folk - actually on a very partial basis - and they went down the tubes and will probably never recover their former glory. Bannings for the odd lunatic are warranted but not for a genuine rugby man like Sa ff ex.

It's not case of holding a gun to anybodys head. I am TOTALLY OPPOSED TO THIS BANNING OF AN OLD FRIEND OF MORE THAN A DECADES STANDING WHO IS MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT RUGBY THAN JUST ABOUT ANYBODY.
