Forner French winger Christophe Dominici has died "suddenly" at the age of 48.
He was a legend of the game and one of those wingers who proved that the little guy can still star in test rugby.
I remember his try in that RWC semifinal when the French came back from 24-10 down against the All Blacks to win 44-31.
You can read the full story here. No cause of death has been announced but I'm guessing it could bave been the Trumpvirus. I'm sure we'll hear soon enough.
RIP

How can anyone forget that memorable comeback.....it remains the comeback of all time. And how can anyone forget the brilliant try scored by a small man with a huge heart. He was in the thick of that comeback and raised the spirit of his side with his carving runs.

RIP and tx for the memory.......Christophe.

I was lucky enough to be at Twickenham for that game.....the vibe was incredible. The French were the French, nobody more so than Dominici.

On a separate note the Peeper couldn’t resist  speculating that his death was due to the ‘Trump virus’.....is that ‘sensitive’ Dave?

It turns out Dominici has suffered from bouts of depression and:

Prosecutors have opened an inquiry into the cause of his death

Sound like Covid to you Early Mouth?

Yes, seen by observers to have jump to his death. Very sad.

A shameful means for Dame Omelette to embarrass herself.

The Coward now looks like a fool again....so shortly after he claimed Trump should step aside in a complete flub of the US election timetable.

Will this shrill fool never learn to check his facts.

Wehe . . . Moffie still hasn't worked out what a transition means. How embarrassing!
Dominici's death was sad enough but suicide always somehow makes it worse, especially for the loved ones left behind wondering if they could have done more.
I see speculation that his depression was caused by a failed bid to buy the Beziers rugby club but he also said in his 2007 autobiography that he had suffered from depression and had been abused as a child.

No the first ‘off color’ content  was Coward calling his death likely because of the ‘Trump Virus’. Just another hysterical post from an absurd fool.

Very sad , too young to die one of the very best players in modern rugby history...thoughts go out to Loretta and his 2 daughters.

He was all what French rugby stands for.

I heard he underwent surgery on a clot earlier this year, I wonder how that might have affected him leading up to his death. I don't know how the clot materialised or what affect it had on his brain, or heart. He clearly hadn't been in great health for a long time.

Could have been what caused him to fall off a building he was seen to have climbed...he was was found below.

It was a tragic way to die.

Yes and Maradona too both legends in their respective sports.

It is always sad when great names pass away far too young, Joost, Hansie Cronje, Jonah Lomu, Ruben Kruger,, James Small, Chester Williams and quite a few untimely deaths.

Poor Ou rooitwit crashing and burning yet again.

Wonder how much time any of us have left.

Rooitwit just because you behave like a child doesn't mean you are one. The years drone on and still you are unsaved.

I know it's socially acceptable to say RIP but the fact of the matter are many will not RIP.
