Every year we hear rhetoric from the northern hemisphere about how they are closing the gap. We even heard from poor excuses from Warren Gatland that he only treats the autumn tour as a warm up and a friendly - hence why they allways get beaten....
I take most of this self talk with a pinch of salt which is just used to satisfy the Northern Hemisphere public.
This year though the gap seems to have certainly closed.
Wales allmost beat the Boks in SA, and England were close against the All Blacks in new zealand for the 1st time in ages. Ireland allmost beat the All Blacks last year for the 1st time. England did ok last week and are probably one of the teams at the moment with the most injuries of 1st choice players.
France done ok in Australia but they seem now days to be more geared as a pension plan for the older has been players from the South.
The way things are going though, it is conceivable that a Norther Hemisphere could win next year.
