Won't play for Lions from nxt year. Assuming based on Boks Policy. Well still be Available for International Selection. Well be moving to Sale.

He should have had a lot more game time for the Boks by now. As it is we still don't really know what sort of a test player he is. Another missed opportunity, and in the meantime we're still stuck with the same journeyman midfield we were stuck with back in 2015.
It's funny how no-one wants him in their Bok side ... till he leaves.
Then he's regarded as a missed opportunity ... a loss to SA rugby.
While he's still here, he's ignored.
Puzzling!!
Yes ... he is a big loss to the Lions and in my opinion to the Boks too. I am surprised he wasn't snapped up by Ackermann.
I also had him very high on my list, purely because he is fast. However I am convinced that the day when the National coaches realised his defense was suspicious, Rohan Janse Van Rensburg's chance took a nosedive in favour of a quota candidate.
South Africa has at the moment no Gerber, De Wet Barry, Jaque Fourie or even real speedsters like Montgomery left in the country.
Yes ... his slump in form under Swys didn't help his cause.
There was a time though when he was streets ahead of the useless De Allende. He should have been given his shot then ... but that didn't seem to impress Coetzee at the time.
Danie Gerber. What a magical player. I don't think we've seen his like since then. Now we're stuck with Am and Jesse Kriel.
Lord have mercy.
Nah CC, plenty of us had him on the radar. He should definitely have had a chance two seasons ago when he was dominating all challengers on the provincial scene. I still remember him smashing through Serfontein in a Lions/Bulls game. His defense was probably his achilles heel though, as Blikkies mentioned. Still, I doubt it was any worse than DA's.
Well Blou, that's the kak you run into when racial selections have been mandated. He isn't the first loss and he won't be the last to leave because of a race obsessed policy and country.
A player in the mould of Brian O'driscoll - He is strong, fast and has a very nice step. with the correct coaching from an expert back he could easily rise as one of the world's best. We need to watch if he excels at Sale, but we may never know how good (or bad) he would have been in a Springbok jersey for a few games. I tend to think that him and Serfontein could make a better pair than any of the ones we currently have........
Ok ... didn't realize he was so popular. In fact I thought I was his one and only fan.
Yes ... I like that mix of Rohan and Serfontein. It goes to show that if we use a little thought we can come up with a solid midfield.
Anything with De Allende and Jesse Kriel in can never be referred to as solid.
I wish Rohan well. I doubt we'll see him playing here again.
There is a clear difference in pace between the pre and post injury Rohan.
He's is still not 100%. More like 70%. And he has gained too much weight for sure.
Luckily the UK docs will sort him out nicely and he'll have a good career there.
Pity. I'd have liked to see him for the Boks as he has exponentially more skill then DomLinda. Will he recover from that knee injury though? Same thing happened to Mnisi two years ago now and isn't hundreds yet either.
Far as i can tell, most of these knee injuries seem to happen in maul type situations. Actually all the recent knee injuries i can think of have happened in that way. JDVs looked particularly eina.
Bottom line...we're stuck with Linda and Kriel for now.
Sucks
I think Rohan's problems started with the Lions. He was injured for a while and when he returned to play the Lions they used Vorster and him to alternate at 12 - with Vorster being at 12 more times than Rohan - while Rian was more often on the bench.
That is not a situation which would make Erasmus look at him more earnestly - after all Erasmus is not foolish like Meyer - picking bench players for the Springbok squad. Earlier in the year ( in Apri) I made some comments about the SA team and mentioned Van Rensburg as my favoured 12 - but when Erasmus did not include him and Vorster in his squad I had to look at those players he included in the squad as the only options. Still regret it that Van Rensburg was not in the squad.
All one can do is to wish him well for his further career and hope that it woud be so successful that Erasmus will ve no option - but to call him up to play for the SA team. .
"Erasmus is not foolish like Meyer".
Oh really?
Then why did he pick Kolisi as his 6 and captain?
Why did he pick Boingi, Hamburger Nyakane, Am, De Allende, Jesse Kriel, Ralapelle and Jantjies.
Looks to me he's just as "foolish" ...
Mike there used him sparingly because he was not 100%.
CC
Meyer picked club bench players to play for the Springboks and that was the issue in this case,
Mnisi and Mapoe were the 12 and 13 that year I think Moz.
Rohan wasn't quite on the scene yet.
To me I think Rohan could still b world class. Big Strong, Quick. Good defender too. Was it just me? But has he gained a bit more weight? In any case I recall Kurtley Beale went overseas. Came back a better player. So who knows.
