We are not seeing the English games as we used to and none of the g\French game have been on TV here.   Have you any reference on Van Rensburg's games at all? ,

This site has replays of all the weekends games from the premiership. They might have the European Cup games as well, I can't recall.

Games are released on Monday mornings.

That would make Van Rensburg a very limited center - so hope it is not the case.

Still wonder why, according to some, he supposedly can't pass or tackle.

Right up until he hyper extended his knee, he was the the best centre in SA.

plum

I always supported Van Rensburg as a player - but it seems that some - even Ackerman - had hang-ups about him.   As a youngster he did have some ball handling and defense problems - but these can be sorted out through proper co aching.

With Steyn gone I think Van Rensburg is high up in the order to replace him.

As a youngster?

You mean a month ago? Cos that's how recently said he couldn't pass or defend.

Just asking.

Haven't seen anything about him playing for years,   He did not play much rugby last year and seem to be out of his initial problems now.

It is amazing how players improve when they do get better coaching up north,  .

Exactly Saffex

All I remember about him at the Lions was busting tackles which put others in space, scoring some magnificent tries, and always looking to offload to support runners.

He put up a better highlight reel in two seasons that DDA has in eight.

And it seems his not so new club saw the same thing I did. A quality player that embarrasses defenders.

I'm a big fan of Rohan JvR but there's no denying he went through a phase about 2 years ago where his hands let him down and he knocked on a lot of times. I know this because he was often the captain of my Fantasy Rugby team and I used to go a bit nuts when he messed up . . . which unfortunately for me was quite often that season.
That was just for a few games though and he certainly doesn't make those mistakes when his confidence is up. I can't think of too many other weaknesses in his game. He does bust a lot of tackles and as Plum says, he's an intelligent player who can put others in space. He's also deceptively fast and never looked out of place when he was asked to play on the wing a few times.
