Blues - Crusaders Game

Definitely the best game thus far this weekend and I think that -

*    The Blues forwards were totally in command and they controlled the forward play completely.  That put the Crusader backline under pressure and they did not do well at all.

*     Carter had an atrocious game by his standards - did really not contribute anything in attack and his kicking game was aimless.

*     The Blues has an excellent backline with very strong runners - especially Ranger - and they are going to be big competitordd for the no 1 spot in the NZ Conference.

The Blues win was really impressie and they thoroughly deserve winning the game.   If what was produced by the Crusaders was anything to go by for the rest of the season - they should be ranked no 4 or 5 in New Zealand.   This was the worst Crusader performance I have ever seen.

Waratahs - Rebels Game

I was very unhappy with what was produced in this game - even though as expected the Waratahs won this game.   The game was characterized by sloppy play on both sides with very little constructive play emerging.   I would definitely not remember this game for very long.

There were only two really good players today and those were O'Connor and McKiffen - the rest was realy unimpressive.   Probably was a waste of time watching this game.

Reds - Hurricanes

This was the weakest performance in a Super 15 game over the last three years.  The players cannot tackle - they knock-on balls and compted with each other who could make the silliest mistakes.   Definitely not a game for the history books.

Barrett was atrociously poor by all standards and Taylor was worse.

Summary

We had one good match (albeit one-sided)  this weekend and two rubbbish ones.  Lets hope for better performances tomorrow.

Blues and Crusaders was a nice match but the Crusaders are still not on song because of their first game.  Waratahs make too much mistakes.  reds were lucky to end up as winners they did not deserve the win and Steve is still Steve..

Must say ive enjoyed the Blues two games so far and they really look great! Their forwards were great but their backs were awesome! The crusaders were slow and without any leadership! The only back with any go forward was Dagg who should have been fullback on the day! The Blues look a step up from all teams! I hope they dont crash and burn like last season.

As for the other two games which i got right with predictions i had no interest watching them! Looking forward to the cheetas v Chiefs which the chiefs will win and the main game of the weekend, Sharks v Stormers.I see many stormers fans crying tonight...

not so clever mike i don't think the Cheetahs vs the Almighty Chiefs will disappoint you given both teams like to run with the ball. Even though three of our big guns are still out injured and Cruden is still nursing a niggling groin strain , that won't make a difference to the Almighty Chiefs because they just keep on winning regardless.

Last week Nanai -Williams was crook and vomiting with some virus and still managed to bedazzle with two tries. What is he capable of this week now he's recovered?

Just so much depth in the Chiefs that this week we can even put the captain on the bench...
