Ruan Pienaar has retired

Ruan Pienaar has retired from international rugby. No loss there. Although, him retiring is sort of like your boss telling you that you are fired, and you replying with "you can't fire me cos I quit!"
Another player that was going to be an all time great, but it never happened. 

 Hallelujah! Although I was present when Wendell Sailor sang his praises in front of the Ozzie rugby fraternity. Each to his own I guess.

He was a Jackly and Hyde. He was better when he first hit the scene- but then became a scrumhalf version of morne steyn

 He had a few moments early on in his career but never really pushed on.
Watching him play for Ulster though was like watching another person. Couldn't bring that with him in Bok colours though.

 Good player -->very smart (cunning )

 I used to admire Ruan Pienaar years ago - he was a top junior at the time - but then was buggered around by coaches having to play on the wing, at flyhalf and as a scrummie,   His worst scrummie exhibition was in the Japan test in the RWC last year - where he - like so many other senior players - buggered up endlessly,

We all now he was the way forward.

Impressive in early days when played flyhalf at Grey and early provincial...s hould have stuck to no 10 role...at one stage I recall a JW remark..."potentialy another Larkin"
