I keep mentioning the Lions lock who was outstanding in a losing cause against the Bulls He does it week after week. A great physical presence who is way way better than the likes of Orie, Nico Janse v Rensburg and Mostert who find themselves in the Bok squad I was very impressed with the rugby smarts of Am, Mapimpi and Gelant over the weekend. Am is such an intelligent player, his subtle touches are from a man who has great awareness and the ability to execute. We see Mapimpi as the ultimate finisher but what caught my eye was his clever pop passes and awareness Gelant is a class act - the closest thing we have to Willie - he is always looking to create and more than often it works out. He has to be back in the Bok squad. I had Fassi as the sure bet to replace Willie in the near future but now I’m torn by the form of Gelant Also very impressive to witness is how good Thomas du Toit is at 3 at scrum time. His transition to tighthead is well and truly complete

A player that has impressed me is Stormers lock Adre’ Smith...good lineout play and bullocking runs which was rewarded with his try against the Sharks....Gelant is on fire and sure he will be chosen for Boks....Damian was good in the midfield again
