No question the rugby highlight of 2017 is going to be the British Lions tour of New Zealand.
The upcoming 6N is looking all too predictable, Super Rugby is struggling for credibility and the Rugby "Championship" has become downright boring.
I'll be supporting my Sharks as passionately as ever and I'll be hoping the Springboks don't humiliate themselves as badly in 2017 as they did in 2016, but right now at the start of the year I'm thinking more about who is going to make the British Lions squad than I am about any other rugby matters.
Come on the British Lions!

I agree with you about the highlight of 2017 being the Lions NZ series. It is going to be a cracker! What I am most looking forward to is the fact that I can watch what is bound to be excellent rugby, without the stress of worrying about my team losing. I am genuinely neutral as far as these two teams are concerned, so I can just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
I also agree regarding the Super Rugby and the Rugby Champs, I can't see there being any real change in the competitiveness of either series, so they will no doubt be NZ dominated bore fests. However, I think the 6 nations will be a little closer than people think. Ireland and Wales are, in my opinion anyway, not as far behind England as people think, but we'll have to wait and see.

Rooi, as an old ballie that one would have to assume likes the history and nostalgia of rugby, you have not even mentioned the Currie Cup. I think that says a lot about how the tournament is slowly disappearing into obscurity. Sad, but it is just one of those things.
