2018- 2nd (15 points)

I got these stats from Sport 24- the video about Rassie- that is showing on most of the articles about Rassie.
Rassie got 2nd in his first year with lower points, albeit it must be said this is the most competitive year in its history. Argentina beat the Boks and Australia, and almost won the 2nd game vs Australia.
I am unsure how Meyer only got 2 points. (It was an abbreviated year in 2015- does that mean that the Boks lost all games in 2015? )

The Boks only played 3 tests in 2015. They lost those three tests. 

A look at defence shows the SANZAR sides have been steadily regressing. Last year the Pumas were stronger at the set pieces. This was the weakest Aussie side for quite some time. The worst Wallaby attack in 40 years. The most vulnerable All Black side since 2009. That said, Los Pumas did have a chance to oust Australia to the bottom. There was a big gap between the top and bottom two.

That said, there were good things. The Boks did improve their defence, and Rassie had the sense to abandon the cavalier approach of Coetzee. A return to Bok strengths and a territorial game have proved to be the foundation for our game. The team improved through the course of the RC.
