Rugby content of a rival site

A year ago SS dominated this site in terms of activity. Well I just popped over there to check things out after Taipan came over here mouthing off. This is what I found:

Of the 8 top rugby topics, three were started today.....one a New Year Greeting. Others were started on January 10, 9 and 8.....December 19 and , get this November 2010. The weighty topics on rugby had headings like:  Stormers Squad and Bulls Squad. There was also one moan about SARU.

The problem with this site is exactly what we have been debating here.....censorship (over there)  versus Freedom of Speech (here). That clinging Big Brother stuff causes their chaps to come over here all the time.....disguised as Capone or Bongo Bongo to finger two of the latest ones. They actually have a closed section for gossip....which Bedpan alluded to in his bleat.

Why do they come here and nobody here shows any inclination to go there....except of course the stooges who post under false names and then pretend to reject this site.

We are many, we are irrereverent   and  we are diverse. This place is hopping that's  why we are so interesting to them. They by contrast are verkrampt and controlling. And worst of all anti WP.

Spot on Moz, bad moderation kills a board and when you have a dull, heavy handed, threatening approach you end up in the mess they are in. Interfering at every turn and throwing your weight about is fatal.

Hopefully they will eventually learn that people are their most precious assets and show them a modicum of respect and dealy fairly, impartially and honestly with them. Simple really.

All a great pity.

ou windpomp was so narked that we unmasked his disguise and forced a confession. No doubt he registered here under a false name so he wouldnt fall foul of baas hawker. Hahahahahahahhaha ou windpomp is full of hot air.

Then we have wee bedpan strutting about trying to make folk think he is a genuine man! Hahahahahahahaha what a wimp.

Believe when I tell you we are the sun moon and stars for some of them. So they come here in disguise through fear of hawker and us I guess. But are we so mean - I dont think so.

 It is common forum equiette not to start continual threads on the same topic

Generally we dont even think of ss board here until some moles appear . But clearly we are your sun moon and stars.

I am amazed Bedpan actually posted that. Talk about proving a point. Dull as it comes......the funny thing is RooiAAS left that Board before me, and his post is still Top of the Pops. Apparently it's common "equiette", whatever that is, to lump all rugby thoughts under dull headings like "Bools Squad".

 No bedpan I have a sense of fun and thought it would be nice to say hi to a few remaining folk there. I knew it could not last long as I used the same sercive provider and equipment.  Amazed that I actually got onto the board at all given his one click german efficiency!!  Of course ou hawker woke up at last and I was banned immediately.  

I see he is still so officious and guess that wont change. Still moving posts about and censoring anything he finds unsuitable. Not for the free bedpan more for servile gimps liike you. One cannot help but notice how you all pussey foot around ou hawker and how dull the outcome has been.

Moz is correct - freedom is for the  free - servitude is for the servants and leads to dullness and mediocrity. Men want freedom slaves want a baas. hawker is your baas and you have what you deserve and perhaps even want.

What must astonish ou hawker is that this board is now substantially bigger than the relatively small ss board. Thats what happens when one can enjoy freedom. Its what most normal folk enjoy. But gimps will be gimps.

Now we are wasting time on all this stuff. hawker call your gimp to order and we can all forget about this and continue. He is no credit to you and you should confine him to gossip girls! Hahahahahahahahaha trouble is that gimps are seldom a credit to anyone.

Hell Dumpy Dave versus Andy Murray at 113 replies, is about to pass their top three rugby posts at 121 combined replies. And it was started last Sunday, not early in January....hehehe!

 Moz its astounding. Ou bedpan tries to advertise ss board here. The hot topic is a November 2010 post started by rooinek and all about members here!!! Its so pathetic its hilarious and of course sad at the same time. We get on with things here and dont mention them. They are so bankrupt that talking about us is the bright spot of their dull days. 

Moz I felt compelled to offer them an invitation to get some relief from the boredom. However they are afraid of baas hawker methinks and us as well - but we are not really mean are we?

Bedpan's master hawker must be fuming!!!  He should confine ou bedpan to gossip girls promptly. Hahahahahahahahaha bedpan is a PR disaster.

 So the top thread here is about Saffex as compared to an actual rugby thread.

 Moz and Beeno, I can't see the reason why you guys need to compare the 2 sites. It is my choice to post on both, and I enjoy both.

 Draad you are a decent type as is Bobbok as are some others there although so many have left. 

Unfortunately poor moderation led to the split. 

Bye the way I didnt leave ss board I was banned. Please be clear on that . I had an undertaking from ou hawker that I could post on both boards provided I said nothing against SS board. Dispite that I was banned having done no wrong up to that point. I never got an answer to this from either barlee or hawker. I would have popped in from time to time as I had indicated I would but hawker reneged on his undertaking and banned me with not even the coutesy of an explanation. To this day I dont know why.

Of course now it matters very little as we have made a posting home here and are amazed at the growth of this board and all the fun we have here.

Like you Draad I like diversity and like having that scoundrel snapster and the loose nut rooinek around as well. Its alll grist to the mill and a lot of fun. 

I dont like heavy handedness and the feeling you are here very much at my whim that one gets on ss board. Hopefully they have learnt a very hard lesson and will change their tune and be more appreciative.  With such a small board they could have.

Anyhow I do not wish them ill dispite all the nonsense and just wish they would get over things.   They got it wrong, made the wrong calls and they should big enough to admit it. Remember its not just the 4 of us who left but a whole host of folk. So dont blame the famous 4!

Yes I think Draad this board will grow even more this year and will iin the not too distant future be the top SA rugby site - in traffic. In the meantime we should enjoy the more intimate atmosphere. 

I am sure that the technical side will improve overe time but as things stand we have all we really need and those bells and whistles do not make a board. Its the people who do. We have the people.

Draad I think you'll find the comparisons  today were started by Taipan ......not yours truly. I agree the SS Board is technically very good, but it has a major issue. No real rugby content. This site provides better coverage and has a longer news reach. All other things being equal that will advantage this site. But all others things aren't equal.

1) Your site is webbied by a guy,  who you guys claim from the beginning was onto Beeno and played him. There's your first problem. The Webbie should be neutral....Hawk played favourites and dealt out unequal treatment. That's why I left.!

2) Posters from SS are actually afraid of incurring the wrath of the powers that be...a few chaps have told me to keep the source of  information confidential for that reason. Which I have done and will do. Fear of retribution doesn't inspire long term loyalty.

3) This thing about lumping things under topics is opaque. A  Board needs new topics or for topics to be refreshed to stimulate discussion. It's the headline that guides one's interest.

4) The international perspective is totally absent.

5) The anti WP thing on SS was pretty virulent....which I know, at times,  you also found unattractive.

So I think there are some headwinds. But plenty of good posters. I would never want to return, and in any case I'm not welcome there. The depth of the antagonism was made very clear to me when, after I announced my departure, Barlee asked me for my ideas to improve the site. I responded in a forthright but completely civilized fashion. Only to hear from another poster that he said he wasn't going to bother replying back. He had his marching orders. That shows the extent to which Hawk dominates the Board and it's founder.

The odd thing is, prior to the blow up, I thought he was a balanced level headed guy, not a tin pot dictator.

The basic point is, Beeno aside, nobody from here goes onto SS to stir. But we have had several disguised SS posters on here.....stirring. There's no problem if they stay where they are, come here to post rugby or even come here to stir under their usual nicks. But sneaking on here in disguise and then pretending to prefer SS is just a low tactic to try and damage this Board.

It won't work, the curves are headed in different directions and this is the site on the rise.

 Beenz, me and Taipan differ on more things than we agree on and had more than our fair share of tiffs, its not yapping, its just differences of opinion and there are no serious insults. I also don't have a pet name for him like you do. :-P He he!

Thanks for that, you admit I left of my own accord. So all those SS refugees who said I was booted out were lying. It's odd how the truth always emerges, mostly spilled by the guys who are lying about you.

 Moz, just a correction, Hawk never played "Stormerule" he gave him the benefit of the doubt. I was the only poepol that did not immediately believe him to be Beeno. There was no "playing" of Beeno and after he affirmed his ID he left on own accord, assuming he was banned, but his profile remained active for a while.

And another thing, there are a lot of history between you guys and some of the SS members that go back a long time before SS. Most of the "moles" on this site turned out to be people that aren't even members of SS any more, like Rooinek for instance.

PS: And yes Beeno, I know you were banned after Moz and Denny left and I don't want to go into the details, its all in the past.

 Draad I was posting on shoutbox when I was completely cut off. I could not post a thing.Actually Icoulnt make a normal post but thesystem allowed me to post on shoutbox. That loophole is probly closed as ou hawker musyt have been fuming to realsie i wasstill having my say. Hahahahahahah

Pease understand that .It reminds of an earlier banning. The board was told I had left of my own accord when I had been banned!!!!  You probably remember the uproar  -ou dorkie had been calling me a wanker for about two weeks I replied in kind once and was banned as my reply had poor dorkie in tears. Barlee of course reversed the banning as it was rediculous and dorkie was inconsolable. But it was given out that I had left of my own accord. a blatant LIE

I saw your post saying we left of our own choice. That is a total lie I was banned. No problem but that statement is not correct. 

It was this basic dishonesty that also caused a big problem. Somebody was lying.

Note also a difference I went on as Stormerrule in disguise as Beeno was not allowed. A few twits come here in disguise when there is no need for it.

As for Barlee he puzzles me. He seems a really nice guy and yet he suddenly goes ape. I think he has been influenced by malignant persons lieing in his ear. 

A great pity it was for a good group of peopel had gathered there but a few bad apples and immature and biased moderation ruined it. The joke is we are the villains but why have so many left with no help from us. They need to honestly face up to this and admit we were not the problem . How is it this board is flourishing? They should be flourishing and we perishing in the wilderness as hawker predicted.

I was banned even as I was posting on shoutbox!  I came back after being banned to see what was hapening and saw my Stormerrule name came up at the bottom where you could see who is visiting the site but was blocked from posting. Saw ou bedapn saying it was cowardly for me to come in disguise until the twit was told I would not be able to come as Beeno. Bwahahaahahaha ou bedapan makes an ass of himself on a daily basis.

Man Beeno you are thick. Of course you couldn't come back as Beeno as you were banned. Do you understand the meaning of banned? That is why your new ID was banned. I know for a fact that barlee and hawk monitor the ISP address of every new applicant, that is why they immediately knew it was you and decided to have some fun.

On their front page there are 27 rugby related posts out of 30, with an average of about 31 replies per thread.

On this site rugby related posts RARELY reaches 20 replies per thread... A lot of the posts on the front page here are "my dick is bigger than yours" and it seems those are the ONLY threads that get replies/dicussion. I prefer discussing rugby, so I think I'll join over there...
