Another talkshop is due at SARU and we can expect nothing constructive to really materialize.
In the meantime Super Rugby is approaching and only 47 days remain before the series start.   In about three weeks time we will have to start looking out for fantasy competitions and result forecast competitions and I promise to assist in those.
What can the SA Teams expect?   I expect the Lions, Sharks and Cheetahs may do well with the Bulls also featuring in the Africa Group.   Both the Kings and the Stormers has gone belly-up from a financial perspective.   Seems that the problem at the Stormers have been solved  by a subsidiary company owned by Remgro - but that may not be reflected on the field of play.
Goosen has gone missing - he has vacated his flat in Paris and Racing Metro has started with legal action against him.   Is he in England or in SA - nobody knows not even the media.
And the ANC is in serious disarray - with racism becoming more and more evident in all walks of life in a desperate attempt to remain in power - that being the only argument they can use.   Rugby will not be spared and one can expect more and more racist attacks aimed at quota selections.
Not a really bright forecast and one can only hope that the year would be better than 2016.

Mikey I sincerely hope your chaps get their act together. Our boys thrive on tough competition and there is or was no tougher than heading to the meat grinder in SA.

That was the past. The present gives another tune.

Here lies the issue with the world of rugby and NZ in particular.

There is the business of selling sporting events. This happens best when it can be marketed through the competition angle.

And this is where the issue starts: competition is not an endless process, it does not last forever. Competition is a means to lift undetermination. Once the undetermined situation is removed, competition ends.

When several offers compete, people do not run a competitive event one after another to determine. They have one, maybe two. Then they stop.

In rugby, NZ terminated competition. There is no more competition. NZ rugby is the best rugby, there is no use running more competitive events.

The situation is so grim that NZ must consider dropping a few games now and then to keep the business going on.

In this context, SA is the rugby that is lagging the most behind. Other countries understood a long time ago that they were running non competitive rugbys and had to find ways to entrench the practice in their society.

Most ailments in SA rugby are rooted in the previous regime and the current regime has been failing to offset the consequences. Especially as ways of doing are celebrated when others like France does things like dropping selection  on merit, and SA reviled for it.

There is no come back for SA rugby.

This post shows that a most pressing demand for rugby in SA comes from foreign partners.
They are the ones pushing for it.
SA, instead of being free to terminate an empoverishing activity in an already empoverished area, is trapped and must continue to keep rugby going; this is an outlet for wealth to be funneled outside SA.

Thething is that neither excellent men in SA or in their rugby partnering nations have any solution other than the continuation of a free time activity at a professional level in a country where kids die for malnutrition.

Those are the values of rugby, one could guess.

@Traditionalist Rugby is excellent product of non-excellent but sometime excellent men who kick ball in both balls for determined completion while fans consolidate wors resources upon bread with fruit made into juice that is from Mexico brought by globalists. This is the nature of excellent competition completion perpetrated by determined politicos with the aim of seeing the scoreboard numbers rise through revolution in the memory of non-excellent hero's like Charlie Chaplin who kicked ball in black and white because racial segregation mean there was no chance for black to kick white ball into multicolored excellent fans. Yes solutions like teeth of chicken found not easy nor practical thus marketing such product tough and also aimless. We're it not for colonization then teeth of dodo could be sold instead and would serve to slow down resource consumption in eager anticipation of building one nation in joyous excellent elation...with a bit of maturation. Yours faithfully Comrade Plum

Plum I can see your drift, i.e. where you are coming from. You are an intelligent young man. I respect you but I certainly differ from your point of view,

What they teach you today whether in high school or university is terribly disturbing and wrong…values are twisted by nuances with subtle inner tones to take ones thinking in a destructive course.

Colonialism is a bad word or Imperialism but the truth is so is socialism, communism, capitalism, neolism or any ism or ideal.

In fact the now in vogue word is racialism…all terrible things if taking as ideals but nevertheless exist in reality because of frailties of humanity…the “isms” have taken “fashion” during times of distress situations in the world and manipulated by even worst human beings that because they are manipulative and very self interested and clever even out manipulate the mediocre intellect of the declining world.

Science is progressing with the minority of pagan wizards but the majority i is kept ignorant, non thinking, without initiative to challenge…it’s been automatised into patterns of thought…a typical an example is “the majority is right”.

Any honest thinking man or women knows this is complete non sense or BS.

A typical example or this is that most “bourgeois” middle class people cannot be financially independent at 65…used to be 90% but in SA it’s closer to 99%.

Rugby is a game for sportsmen and entertainment but now become the soul accolade that SA can claim any fame to…it goes down so does SA…it’s really quite pathetic…sadly we are pathetic people…cry babies in a very much bigger world.

We won’t last too long like this…first of all the SA character is going, people are submitting and complying to a lying government  and the ugly middle class Saffa is playing fiddle while Rome burns”.

Selah.

Funniest thread ever!
Some of Plum's "drift" that Chabull claims he "gets" . . .
"Rugby is excellent product of non-excellent but sometime excellent men who kick ball in both balls for determined completion while fans consolidate wors resources upon bread with fruit made into juice that is from Mexico brought by globalists."
You can almost picture Chabull nodding his head in agreement.
"This is the nature of excellent competition completion perpetrated by determined politicos with the aim of seeing the scoreboard numbers rise through revolution in the memory of non-excellent hero's like Charlie Chaplin who kicked ball in black and white because racial segregation mean there was no chance for black to kick white ball into multicolored excellent fans."
"Non-excellent heroes like Charlie Chaplin." LMAO! Chabull is probably taking notes !
"Yes solutions like teeth of chicken found not easy nor practical thus marketing such product tough and also aimless."
Only someone with Chabull's great "interlect" (sic) will understand this!
A very funny post of Plum's made funnier by the blithering idiot who doesn't realise it's nonsense and is pretending to understand it!

That Goosen story is material for its own thread.

According to the OP, the club has started  legal action. This indicates a change in the deal because retirement is not a cause for legally sueing.
And apparently, as the player is AWOL, it means he has not provided a version of his.

The consequences of the Goosen's case are expected to be heavy as a player walking away from his contractual obligations is not something the professional sport world in general can afford.

The lack of coverage of the Goosen story is astounding. The story has all the required ingredients to be sensational.
Has one newspaper even tried to secure Goosen's interview? It  would sell millions.
The story is so strange: apparently, the player is a registered employee to his former/current club.
This story sounds big and its conclusion is widly expected.

On the hand, the player'd had it better if that story of quotas was not a front to emulate a much needed representativity in SA rugby.
Being excluded from selection from an actual quota policy could have saved him the mess he is in.
