I have been eagerly awaiting this game. My sons school is playing Hoerskool Dr EG Jansen this Saturday. Am so looking forward to seeing a SA schools side in action again........its been years. They ended 5th in the SA rankings this year, so it should be a good game as my sons school side is pretty special this year with a good few England squad players in their side.



We have a few boys missing through injury including my little man but its still a cracking side and I can't wait.

Please give us a report on that match - as well as an indication whether there are any talent in the EG Jansen school team to follow in future.  Will be much appreciated.

Will do. The EG Jansen hooker is the SA Schools hooker and they had another player who would have made the side but was injured at the time. Not sure what position he plays or if he is on tour.

Grey High from PE are on tour as well, they play Abingdon from Oxford tomorrow and then Millfield on Wed, Millfield are very good. The Grey Bloem/ Affies of England. 

Both Millfield and Abingdon played in our schools rugby festival about a month ago, which we won. We were unbeaten in that festival. 

Grey High ended about 10th in SA and Dr EG Jansen 5th......so playing Millfield and our school will be a good measure of how the standard compares in both countries.

Thanks Cloudy, he is very frustrated but hoping to be back in Feb

Mike - Grey High beat Abingdon from Oxford, 61-5 today

Are you serious - if Abingdon is a top rugby school - then there is something seriously amiss in school rugby in England.   Greys  is about the 10th highest rated school in SA -  Abingdon would lose by 100 points if they play Outeniqua, Grey College or Paarl Gym.
