Rumour is running that WP have signed the

Blue Bulls Schools Flyhalf: Ryno Eksteen

Blue Bulls Schools Nr8: Steven Meiring

Free State Schools Nr 12: Pieter Jordaan

Will wait to see, but that Flyhalf is not half bad had a good game against Pollard.

Flyhalf is definitely a concern. Maybe we will go for Jantjies? How would his running game down here though!

Apparently it is no rumour - but a fact.   Rumour has it that Pieter Jordaan at this age is better than his elder brother ism   Has anyone seen the Free State Craven week team playing - and if so, how deid Jordaan perform?

I liked Ryno Eksteen as well - on the day he outplayed Pollard - but there could have been a variety of factors influenicubng Pollard's perormance.   He apparently had some injury that affected his play.

Beeno - have you gone crackers wanting Earl Jantjies to go to Cape Town?   That would be aenough to destroy the Provinmce and Stormers backline.  Let the Palooka go to PE - the Queens team will be useless enough as it is.

The bit i was of Jordaan for fre state against KZN he played 12 did not really impress me that much, but as they say i have only seen him once, and that is not enough any player can have an off day.

I also Liked Eksteen, he seems to be well rounded, I hope he is no superstar but rather a team man, if he is he will fit in well in the WP setup.

Thaks for the update mike, So according to your sources it's not just a rumour but fact?

And silence from all the WP supporters about the buying of young players from the other provinces! Some of you were having such hissy fits about the Bulls buying Pollard and co, but now that the roles have been reversed there is no mention of it....Double standards, double the moaning, and none of the standards. Pro era, the players go to the money.

Bluebok, the roles have been reversed long ago. In fact, they were reversed when the Bulls bought two WP players, and it was then decided that the Stormers/WP has suddenly become a feeder union for the Bulls. LOL. Until very recently there were a whole herd of "foreigners" within their set-up, including the majority of their "star-players", i.e. Habana, J Fourie, Vermeulen, Liebenberg, Fondse, Jantjies, de Waal. Alister Coetzee is the first "local" coach for quite some time. Even their big hero Rassie was an import. How many times have the Bulls been involved in lawsuits about players being poached? Remember how they strongarmed the Griquas out of coach Cobus van der Merwe, the Lions out of Brian Mujati, and Jaque Fourie, and IIRC there was an issue when Tiaan Liebenberg was signed as well.

Nahh, if you want to shout, you just have to have a look behind your own door before you do so.

Bok and Ceradyne, the only latesy issue about WP players bieng poached on this site had to doe with the leagility of how Pollard went. no one complained about the fact that he went, All players are free to do what they whish. The question had nothing to do with what was done, more to do with how it was done. There are a bunch of young WP players going everywhere as there are a bunch of other players going everywhere, as long as everything stays within the laws no one has an issue.

There are rules to this you know.

Ek, these accusations against the Bulls have been around since long before the Pollard issue, but it may be that you just missed those threads. As you say, all the unions are buying players left right and centre, so there is no issue. As long as it it done fairly, its all good. I wish it came down to players playing for their home province, but unfortunately in the Pro Era that is not going to happen. Although, if that were the case, there would be some fringe teams like Griquas and EP challenging for Currie cup titles.

True, Free State and EP would most likely be challenging really hard. Sharks would be quite lower down the order as well. One of the reasons I understand the kings issue a bit more. they have never had the budget or systems to keep those players. Now it seems they do. Boland would probably not really challenge as all those players from the Paarl and Stellenbosch schools go through WP systems anyway.

the problem with the bulls is that they buy players and most of those kids never really get a chance as they buy so many and next year they just buy more. That is also why I undertand that Goosen said no to the bulls He realised he would be playing behind steyn and a bunch of others before he would get exposure. The problem with the Bulls is not that they buy, it's that they buy everything.
