 It's noteworthy that 2007 RWC final MOM, Victor is the only Bok who makes it.

 

That Warburton and Pocock  are chosen....I guess they did do some dominating. That old man Brad Thorn makes two teams.

 

These are mostly very experienced players with average ages for all teams well north of 27 years.

Not remarkable at all given there were probably at least five worthy players for each position.

 These players are "selected" by journalists - who basically have been found wanting in player evaluation n the past.  They often look at one incident in a game and forget about the rest and then do write-ups often enough totally without foundation.   
That type of player selection is in fact meaningless and that is the end of the story.  In any event - that was nearly fur years ago - and has no bearing on present player performances.    So it is really silly to come up with something that at this stage means nothing at all.

Sure - the Ellis Park test - where all of Steyn, Kruger, Engelbrecht and Alberts had nightmare games.  Note - three Bulls and one loafer comprising the 4 players.    Engelbrecht and Kruger are out - time for the Stade Francais Reject and the Loafer to go as well.

Three or four years ago - excuse the typing error - wht the hell does it mean.  The Springboks were out in the quarter-final - partly because of simpleton refereeing - but mostly because of the rugby geriatrics under-performing - one of which was the non-physical Matfield.  He was bad enough in 2011 and is worse at present - even rookie players nowadays push him aside and just continue with  attacking plays.  
So what does that mean in 2014?   At 37 years of age he is just that - 7 years his best and that is a fact
