This looks like the A team and not the B team with a sprinkle of some fringe players. Might as well be the starting players.

Should be a good match at least on Wednesday

12 – Damian de Allende
11 – Sbu Nkosi
10 – Morné Steyn

8 – Jasper Wiese
7 – Pieter-Steph du Toit
6 – Marco van Staden
5 – Franco Mostert
4 – Eben Etzebeth
3 – Trevor Nyakane
2 – Joseph Dweba
1 – Steven Kitshoff

Replacements (from):
16 – Malcolm Marx
17 – Coenie Oosthuizen

I see CleverMike's favorite players is back at 10, lol. And Willie is still being selected and will no doubt run willie nilly all over the place But overall looks like a decent team.

Not really a SA "A" team and closer to the test side . . . but I guess that's because the prep test against Georgia was cancelled.

Yes, looks more like a first-choice team.
Probably just to make sure everyone is giv en a proper run before the test matches.

This is a smart move by Nienaber….it will give the Boks a much better sense of where our rugby is at present. And provide a better gauge of the Lions’ strengths. Good to see Elstadt on the bench, a test caliber player for quite a while….a Danie Rossouw type.

This has been one hell of restart to bok rugby, one test and thee whole bloody thing got blown up by covid, but I am glad to see that Jasper Wiese aka, the  transporter is at the  back of the scrum.

Bit of an inexperience back row now that Vermeulen and Kolisi is not available.

Interesting  to see Morne is starting ahead of Jantjies.

Not sure what the plan  is with Willemse, is going to cover fullback, centre or Flyhalf.

Joseph Dwebe at 2 should be good

Well obviously the Nienaber/Erasmus complex rates Morne.

Morbne is back because Pollard was found to be Covid positive.    Morne remains a  flop and I would suggest  that De Allende will have to carry him  as well and try to put some life into the Springboks backline neutralizing the handicap Steyn would be.

Malherbe was also Covid 19 positive - so he will be sorely missed as well.

No doubt Erasmus signed off on elevating Morne above Jantjies…can the ‘genius’ be wrong?

Don't think the "Boks" will win this one...a little of too much experiment and rust, whereas the Br/Ire Lions are better oiled and properly run in.

Not sure how the game plan will work, what are the boks going to to do. But we also have to think of the psycogical blow either team can suffer if they lose tomorrows unofficial 1st test.

If we lose, it will make no difference to the rankings, but it is pretty much  our first team here.

I also don't understand why Marx is doing bench duty, he is the best hooker in the world

The Silky hands of Jantjies was a disaster in the first test when he came of the bench.
Morne has been the form 10 for the Boks.

Anybody is better than Jantjies at flyhalf - so the selection of Morne is reasonable  from that point of view.   But whether he is a test side flyhalf has never been the case.   .

On Superbru  I have picked the Lions to win the game because of two critical weaknesses in the team - first of all  the tight head prop and the flyhalf.    Hope there are better players on the bench who can replacethe major deficiencies - especially the   replace the  defense deficiency in the flyhalf position.

The wee Boks should win but at least 50 points as they are fielding there best team & have the “home field advantage” (some might say bent refs, lol). Anything less than 50 is an ominous sign ??
