Pro14, visiting team players are forbidden of access in SA. Reason: visa. Like in the good old times.

 Have you ever travelled outside of SA with your SA passport? Have you travelled to the UK since 2008 with your SA passport? Have you travelled to NZ with your SA passport?

SA has a heavy record in that underhanded way of weakening their opponent, even though this time, it does not go as far as stuff like honourary whites etc

Noticeably, if SA would like to try the reverse like barring white players from other countries to come into SA, it might not even work considering how poorly trained SA players are.

...Kiwis require a three month holiday visa to visit the Republic now because the 20 year visa free travel arrangement between SA and NZ has ended.... a tit for tat move after NZ slapped visa requirements on SA travellers, following a rise in the number of people trying to get into NZ on fraudulent passports...
Crustie fans were also affected back in the Super Rugby final by the 25 day backlog at the SA embassy so few travelled in support...Chiefs centre also turned away before the Stormers clash due to similar documentation problems...

Exactly. That is exactly what they threatened to do after the UK did the same in 2008 but somehow they have never pushed through with that. Be that as it may, they have still not been able to convince the UK govt that they have upgraded the security of the SA passports sufficiently to warrant a return to visa free travelling by SA citizens to the UK. Even though they were told in 2008 about the issues and they are still in the same boat.
My passport has expired in July of this year and I have still not bothered to renew it. I have to go in to London to do that. I cannot download the forms and post it the application. I have to send them an addressed envelope with the necessary stamps and request the forms and then they will send me the forms. I then have to complete the forms and all the crap that they require and go in to London for my fingerprints, despite the fact that they already have my fingerprints on record. I cannot pay the fees electronically or give them a personal cheque. It has to be either cash or a postal order. And then, just for fun and giggles they tell you that the turn around time is four months and it could be longer. What makes it even funnier is that the passport that expired in July was issued in July 2007 and it still had the pre 1994 coat of arms on. In other words, in 2007, 13 years after the ANC came into power they still had the coat of arms of the excellent men on their passports and they wonder why other countries don't trust the validity of their passports.
I don't know what improvements have been made in recent years bu Just to prove how farked up the system is/was..... I saw a TV program in SA in 2007, on a program called Carte Blanche, about the fraud surrounding SA documents. What they did was to get a Zimbabwean women to go to each of the nine regional offices of the Dept of Home affairs. They got her to "buy" an SA passport and an ID. She applied under a different name at each of them. Of course they obtained the services of "intermediaries" with the necessary inside contacts. She managed to obtain an ID and a passport at each of the nine offices. After this was issued they went to the deputy director of Home Affairs and spilled the beans and presented the passports and IDs. The dept inspected the documents and I can remember the exact details but only three of the passports and two of the IDs were not authentic or vise versa.
They also disclosed that their investigations revealed that there were people who arrived from visa free Asian countries and within weeks from arriving in SA they were in possession of fully valid SA passports and IDs which they then used to travel to the UK and other countries who allowed visa free entry for SA citizens. That was why the UK stopped visa free travel for SA citizens to the UK.
Slapping visa requirements on other countries is not the solution. Fixing your own sh!t is. Problem is that the not-so-excellent men don't like to hear that they are crap and they would rather follow the tit for tat route. 

 Far out Ceradyne thats some rigmarole right there ,I renewed my NZ passport online quicker and cheaper than my kids could do th eir Aussie passports !

 My previous two renewals have been brilliant,one done overseas,obviously have to wait for the post and then one done in Kempton Park, completed very speedily,allmost fell over.

Irish passport is best...managed to get because grandfather was born in Cork...SA passport not too bad now....you can now travel to Russia WITHOUT visa...believe it or not.

 Ja Sebastien,just some advice when crossing a land border into Russia and that's to mention the Bric's coalition,means a lot politically.

Traditionalist please clarify yourself and speak sense so that us straight forward honest men of integrity can understand you...I honestly think nobody that's normal here (if that's indeed possible) can understand your riddles and dialogue...where do you hail from...is it  Kolmanskop??? LOL.
