The SA tems this week will be severly tested o remain in their log positions.   The only side with a relatively easy match on their hands will bethe Cheetahs who are playing at home against the Kings.   The latter team did well on tour - but came back and was not good at all against the Bulls.

The Bulls have a tough on on their hands.   They play against the Waratahs and I really have a problem in assessing the likely outcome of that mactch.   Homeground advantage is in their favour and so is altitude.   However, in their latest performance against the Chiefs - the Waratahs did show improvement and thye do have some very talented players in their midst.   The Bulls did not travel well this year at all and was weak against the Crusaders and the two Australian teams they met on tour.   Morne's goal kicking at Loftus is much more accurate than it was in Australasia,    I give the Bulls about a 50-50 chance to prevail at this stage, but a loss is more likely with a bonus point a possibility.

The Sharks has three problems to contend with in their game against the Chiefs.  The one is he jet-lag factor.  The second one is their long list of injured players.   The third problem is the serious perfornace deficiencie shoewd by some of their players.    The Chies on the other hand has been average in games against outside teams - but in this case I belive that the Sharks has only a 20% chance of bbeating them and is unlikely to get a bonus point in this game.

The Stormers is basically out of contention insofar as conference leadership is concerned.   Provided some of their injured players are really back and they pick their strongest combination - and taking into account the poor form of the Hurricanes in their most recent match - I think that the Stormers have a slightedge against the Hurricanes and can move up further on the log.

I believe that the log situation after the next round will be the following:-

1    Cheetahs

2    Bulls

3    Stormers

4    Sharks

5    Kings

Your predictions could happen but in my opinion it will be 1) Bulls - They are getting better and better, however they should not under estimate a Waratahs side, but 4 points should be in the bag. Even a 5 point victory is on the cards. 2) Cheetahs - 5 points 3) Sharks - Will lose but will stay in front of the Stormers 4) Stormers - Tought one to pick, but backing the home side to squeak it. 5) Kings

Mike the bulle will win their game - a free tip for your fantasy rugby effort.

The reasons are three fold. Firstly they are playing better rugby. Next they are at home- Mike that means altitude. Thirdly the Warts have to travel. The double whammy of altitude and travel is a huge obstacle to overcome as sides are operationg at 70% efficiency. I could add another - ie - bulle ref - but I dont know who the ref is so I wont. Bulle of course must have the industrious Arno Botha starting.

The Stormers leave early so travel shouldnt be a problem to them. Hopefully they will put the canes to the sword. Get back a few more players back and repeat the dose for the Blues. A good tour, players back and hey we are in with a  shout.

Sharks and Kings to lose. Will kings insist on playing that pap Watson?

Bokko

If the Bulls wins and get 4 points and the Cheetahs win and get a bonus point - they will take oer the number 1 spot from the Bulls - since they have won more of their matches than the Bulls did.   That I believe is the basis on which the system works.   On the othr hand the Bulls did beat the Cheetahs at home - and that could be the deciding factor.   Frankly do not know what counts more in this case.  I know point differnce is the third factor - but am unsure about the first two - when log points are equal.

I do not select players in Fantasy games according to team performances - but based on individal performances.   A team can still lose - whilst individuals perform better than their counterparts.    It is likely that I would have two Waratah players (Foley and Folau) and one Bulls player (Serfontein) in my squad for that game.
