Players who did unimginable stupid things and think they can get away with it.   Lets list them per position:0

15  SP Marais - shouting at Swiel mine and then failed to catch the ball after Swiel opted out.

14  JP Pietersen -  for excessively poor ball catching

13  Juan de Jongh - for twice hanging on to balls when passes could result in tries.

12  Francois Steyn - for kicking away balls aimlessly and in particular kicking away a ball into the in goal area after his team won a tighthead in a scrum.

11  Bjorn Basson - for losing the plot

10  Jacques-Louis Potgieter for kicking balls directly into touch repeatedly

9   Charl McLeod - for aimless kicking away if balls resulting in ball handovers

8   Keegan Daniel - for knocking on a ball in an attack situation

7  Willem Alberts - for trying to tackle Treeby and ending up on his backside af ter a tackle attempt and non-existent tackles in other cases.

6  Marcel Coetzee - for thinking that a ball carrier should never pass balls and only running straight at defenders

5  Victor Matfield - for poor organisation of forward play when threatening the Force's tryline

 4  No obvious candidates

3  Jannie du Plessis - for missing more tackles than he made

 2  No obvious candidates

1 Steven Kitshoff - for giving away 2 penalties in scrumming

The competition for DUNCE OF THE WEEK was close = but ultimately FRANCOIS STEYN stood out with his repeated blunders.   The Treeby Shit tackle award goes to WILLEM ALBERTS.

Yes it was a tight competition this week, especially before the Cheetas/Stormers game that brought some relief.
S P Marais is shit, he is slow, he is cumbersome and basically not a SuperXV level player. A fullback must take responsibility for the highball, but to call for it and then not take it is rubbish. He should call earlier, like the morning rubbish-men.
Has JP forgot how to play rugby?, it appears so.
Charl Mcleoid, is not a fulltime starting scrummie
marcel coetzee is too predictable, especially when his pack is not dominating. His specialisty is isolating himself to give away penalties

Shock, gasp, horroe, Mike thinks Frans Steyn, Alberts, Jannie and Matfield were useless. I can only assume the number 4 lock position is vacant because Bakkies doesn't feature in the comp and had Jacque Fourie still been in the comp, he would have edged De Jongh out.
Ha ha competition was close but Frans Steyn stood out..Yeah right Mike..Because SP Marais was way better. He missed the tackle on Malakai Fekitoa that resulted in his try. He dropped nearly everything that came to him. It was fitting that he and Swiel fucked up over that high ball. Both players are out of their depth!
Hey Mike, why dont you name next weeks "dunce" team. You already have your 12 and 7 pinned down! Pathetic bro!

Sure SP Marais came close - his only saving grace was that Steyn were continuously worse by his continuous aimless kicking and his lack of anything positive.  That kick into the in goal area after a tighthead was one of the worst thoughtless plays I have ever seen ion a rugby field.

Yep, it happens though. Poor execution of a kick. Now is that really worse than missing a tackle that results in a try? Letting balls bounce infront of him and dropping balls cold? Screwing kicks off the side of the boot and the rest?
SP Marais was by far the worst player on the day. Tim Swiel did play a big part in that ball that bounced though and Jake could watch no more of that oke fucking up and subbed him quickly after that!
Had he left it for SP, why the fk did he not get out of SP's way? He should have been well clear of SP, not hanging around in his eye line in the way!

SP Marais called for the ball, he failed by not catching it. Not Tim Swiel's fault whatsoever.

It was not only that one kick that swayed it - it was the continuous aimless kicking away of possession.   Marais shouted at Swiel "Mine" and Swiel opted out even though he was ready to take the kick and would have taken it - but for Marais' shout.  Maybe the dunce of the week award should have gone to  Marais - but he did not start and was slightly less clueless than Steyn was.
Look - the way Steyn played in Super 15 was way too poor to be considered for the Springbok team.  People talk about the speed of Pietersen being deficient - but Steyn slowed down even more.   He lost his speed when he was clearly overweight after his return from France and never recovered it.  Th problem is he shows no penetration in backline play and missed tackles or tackle opportunities because of deficient speed.
I am may be too critical of Steyn - but am disappointed about his performances - in the Hurricanes game he went sour and never improved since then.    I am not blinded by his kicking at goal 0 but am more upset because of his neg ative role in backline performances.   It shows lack of game reading ability and consequential poor decisionmaking.

Guys all I can say is:
LORD HELP THE SPRINGBOKS.
Dismal display of rugby all round by the SA teams.

Super 15 form is not usually a guide to Bok success. It was in 2009 when the Bulls won playing tight rugby, and the Boks dominated with the same Matfield/Morne  led plan.

But in 98 and 2004 when we won the TN we never had a team in the S15 finals.

Relax and don't kick the dog.

Team performances determine which teams end up in the finals of Super 15 - not necessarily individual performances.    The latter is an entirely different issue.  The question remains 9 is their a correlation between individual performances on Super 15 level and on international level?
What is abundantly clear is that satisfactory performances on individual level on Super 15 level normally will translate to satisfactory or even good performances on international level - good performances on Super 15 level will have the same consequence.   This have been the case of teams from all three participating countries in the Super 15 series.
However, there is virtually no chance that players who perform poorly on Super 15 level will perform better on international level.   People will refer to Nonu's performance last year - on Super 15 level he was poor and on international level better.   That could have been the result of a poor team environment - but I think it was more the result of an attitude problem.
In the case of the SA players there is already proof that non-performers on Super 15 level was non-performers on international level.
It is extremely dangerous to select non-performers on Super 15 level to play in the Springbok side.  Chances are that they would be a liability for the Springbok team 95% of the time.

Balls.....look at Luke  Watson, Trevor Halstead, JJ, Olivier, Murray, Juandre Kruger, Barrett, Taute, jantjies, Potgieter, Mvovo, Greyling, Coetzee.....etc, etc, etc. Watson was our S 12 player of the year and absolutely cratered in tests. S15 success does not guarantee test success at an individual or team level.

You did not look at what I said and went off on a tangent again. I did not say that Super 15 form is a guarantee for success on test level.   I said deficient performance by players in Super 15 is a guarantee  that they would fail at test level.  Which is directly opposite to your comments.
Most of the long list of players you mentioned were actually not top performers on Super 15 level in any event.
