its been confirmed that the SA will get their 6th team.

details of the conference system are still being worked out, but a two conference system is the front runner.

details can be found here
www.sarugby.com/news.cfm

congrats to the kings, they no longer have to worry about all that promotion relegation nonsesne, at least not for another 2 years.

maybe the kings and SARU should work out a deal where they can now implement strcutures to better prepare the kins for 2016, instead of playing with the lions or whoever gets the wodden spoon like they did this year.

and in exchange, SARU could give the kings automatic inclusion into the currie cup, i think the kings are part of the vodafone cup, but if not then they should be a part of that too.

anyway, this should make a few cats happy, :o)

Sasuke the Kings are not EP. Its a franchise. Then tey got a liscence cause most black rugby players are Xhosa and Xhosa's you get in EC. There are more black people in the Lions region but they don't give a fuck about rugby hence you get all the big football clubs up there.

So they want to show they can play just as good as the Boertjies. So they took other Boertjies and some Kiwi's and Argentines and made them Honory Xhosa's

Sasuke, with all due respect, you do not really know and understand the underlying issues at hand, otherwise you would have understood where Spoony was coming from. It does seem funny, at first glance, but it is actually more serious than that. I am not trying to have a bash at you, juts for the hell of it. It is really a matter of knowing the background to the entire Southern Kings issue and the history behind it, to understand the real issues at hand.

The EP area has a very rich rugby history and as Spoony has said, one of the few areas in SA where blacks really actually give a shit about rugby, or at least a large number of blacks. Problem is that certain "fatcats" have drained the place of its financial resources years ago and let the whole set-up go down the tubes. Thing is that everything is so entangled in political BS and bribery and corruption that it would take almos a thesis to describe what has really happened. In short, some of the figures involved are Mankenkesi Stofile who was the Minister of Sport at some stage, his brother Mike who was a vice-president of SARU (a typical ANC cadre deployment), Brian van Rooyen, Hoskins, etc. Makhenkesi Stofile was also the Permier of the Eastern Province, somewhere along the line. There were huge the normal window-dressing corruption investigations which was eventually swept under the carpet and typically dosappeared into this air. To me with the player drain reaching a crises level I am wondering if we can keep even the five unions afloat. Give us all our players and we could field perhaps 8 plus super 15 sides.

@creyadyne,

nope, i would have responded the exact same way, cos my comment while fitting with spoonys comment above, was aimed at another of spoonys comment he made elsewhere, where he said All Blacks werent allowed to pick players of maori and pacific islander ethnicity cos they mostly played league.

one of those u had to be there to understand situations, :o)

Sasuke do you know why the Maori did not tour SA in 1928 and 1948? The NZ myth is that the SA goverment sqaid they were not allowed or the SARB said it. And I bet you will not accept anything explenation or the real reason why because of the Kiwi's and their ignorance or their failure to admit how they marginilized the Maori for decade after decade. Also most Kiwi's apply today situations and apply the same crriteria to something 80 years ago. None of them even try to go look up the situation back then or the reason.

Again you are taking out of context. Firstly when I said most Maori you instintively think most Maori which include every Maori player from when they first start playing to the ones being good enoug to play for NZ instead of thinking of the Maori players that were good enough and that had families to provide for. Because you know there was a thing called the great depression. ALso where there non Maori players who were left out contreversaly? You know there is always those who did not make the squad which the public feel they should have made the squad. Considering in the 1920's NZ made totals like 13 changes to their side every second game and there was fuck all consitancy. So they did what everyone else did and blame apaprtheid for losing.

Even 95 they blamed Apartheid. listening devices. People being poisoned and torture methods of fucking with their sleep something that makes one thiong of the SA secret police and SA would do that cause the secret police etc etc. Yet they were disbanded in 1990. Also why did the Tuniasia football team did not complain of being poisoned when we won the African cup of nations the next year?

The NZ myth?  Seriously you are one deluded numbskull.  The Maori weren't allowed to tour for one reason only and that was because of your governments segregated apartheid policies.  You know for an old fart you really don't know much.  And if you think that was something kiwis cooked up between them then how come your government felt the need to apologise back in 2010 to the maori and all black people who were discriminated against by your previous administrations in the apartheid era?  If it was such a myth then there would have been no need for an apology.  Go back to studying your history, and open a page in ours as well because the only ignorant one here....is you.

They really didn't know what they appoligized for and they blame everything on Apartheid. Just a quick way the Kiwi rugby union takes and their supporters eats up like hotcakes.

First off all in 1921 SA played the Maori's. The match was full of contreversy and sides beating each other up. Think the one South African suffered a broken leg and half the others were injured.

But in any case some idiot reporter sent a really degrading telegraph which was intercepted and given to the papers.  SA did not send nor the team but the Springbok management apoliogised for it even though they had no part in it.

But the NZRFU never contacted the president of the SARB nor did they contact the SA goverment. They simply took a telegraph and and advice from the SA team manager and came to the conclusion that the Maori won't be welcome.

Apparently advised by Harold Bennett that Maori would not be acceptable as tourists in South Africa, the NZRFU confidentially informed its provincial affiliates in June 1927 that no Maori should be included in trials to select the 1928 All Black touring team.25 When this decision became apparent, the Akarana Maori Association protested at the 'slur on the dignity and manhood of the Maori' and insisted that the Union should have declined to send a team 'not truly representative of New Zealand as a united Maori-European people' .26 The NZRFU responded that its decision had been made in full consultation with its Maori Advisory Board. As subsequent debate in the press indicated, there was a general desire to 'protect' Maori from potential 'incidents' and insult in a country with different racial circumstances from those enjoyed in New Zealand

NZ marginalized the Moari for decades and made the decision themselves without asking the people in high places in SA. It took Dr Danie Craven over 22 years to fix that misconception and things taken out of line.

Then in 1949 well Cloudy I am really dissapointed as NZ played two tests on the same day. In fact they played the Bedisloe cup with 1 team and the test vs SA with another. They lost all 6 tests and their own cockiness to think on that they can take the Aussies and South Africans on with two teams cost them dearly.

What was the excuse in 2010 for the 56 37-0 drubbing from the Boks against teh Maori? They were told to throw the game which was bullshit as well.

Spooney you have a bit of cheek dont you ?Telling Maori people how your lot supposedly had nothing to do with the Apartheid banning on racial grounds of Maori's ??? Do you think maybe Maoris might have some idea of their own history ? How typically arrogant of you.

And BTW my family has played Rugby for as long as its been in NZ ,and never have my people been treated the way you treat yours ,never !

My family have played rugby served in 2 world wars ,Korea .Viet Nam .Bornea and all the current "police actions " around the world and all alongside every other Kiwi no worries on the colour rubbish .

A farking saffa lecturing Maori people on supposedly being treated the way your lot treated black people ,what are you from an alternate universe ???

Oh I see " Honorary whites " didnt get a mention from you but I suppose that didnt happen either .

When you try to make excuses and fob off the Apartheid grubbiness on of all people Maori's and Kiwis in general [ still the most integrated nation going ]  then you are an apartheid apologist and are most definately all for apartheid .

And I dont recall our Government sanctioning the massacre of men women and school kids or literally whipping them into line either .

You would think a saffa would know better than to bring colour politics into a rugby debate .Especialy trying to justify apartheid by deflecting it onto others .
