Since SA rugby sides have forced their way in European competitions, they must accept foreign players.

They must offer contracts to EN,FR,IT,IR,SC,WA players. Just as the other leagues do.

Of course, theirs finances wont allow to attract the very best but SA rugby must not be for SA rugby  players only.

Plenty of players who are out of contract and  they deserve opportunities from SA rugby sides.

Fair is fair.

"Since SA rugby sides have forced their way in European competitions, they must accept foreign players."

They are welcome, but we managed to have an all SA final without them...I'm sure it won't be long before prospective players are queueing in Cape Town for the honor of playing for the Mighty Stormers.

PS, we didn't force anything,  they were glad to accommodate us...and we are glad to be there...symbiosis at work.

SA teams cannot complete financially in attracting foreign players from the North with the Rand as it is.

Can you picture the bankrupt Stormers bidding for players from the UK etc.

Perhaps they could afford  a few players closer to home from countries like Kenya, Uganda and the likes.

Plus the talent pool we have in the Cape area does and has provided more than enough local players of quality to meet the needs of rugby in SA I think.

Local rather than an import for me.

SA rugby sides are paid in USD.

Besides, every season, players, out of contract, fail to find a new club. A lot of opportunities for SA rugby sides.

It can not be a one way street. European clubs hire SA rugby  players.

SA rugby sides must recruit European players and offer them opportunities.

They are welcome, but we managed to have an all SA final without them...

Only one champion , it means the three other sides will benefit from hiring European players.

PS, we didn't force anything,  they ate glad to accommodate us..

Sure thing.

Living a dream.

Fuck off Trad with your stupid ignorant theory SA sides don’t need fucking foreign players we don’t want to devalue our domestic talent I want to support the SA sides because they are made up of Saffa’s who feed our Bok side, I don’t want our sides filled with a bunch of foreigners This is one time a weak rand and a crime ridden country stacks in our favour

Easy to find better players than the so called domestic talent.

Two way street, two way street.

A few foreigners spice things up a bit, but IMO some European sides are overdoing things big time.

Well the European clubs want some of the Superstars from other countries as it strengthens there teams.....or so they think....the European stock is off above average quality as seen with Test being played this year and makes a person wonder why not more of the local talent gets chosen? The amounts of money getting thrown at Forgein players, explains pretty well the influx of all kinds of players into Europe....they are definitely overdoing it.....maybe a global player  payment System, balancing between world currencies so players basically earn the same where ever they play?

Would be nice to see fresh 2022 data to give perspectives.

A few foreigners spice things up a bit

Time to take the road to spice things a bit. Work to be done.

Well the European clubs want some of the Superstars from other countries as it strengthens there teams.....

European clubs must provide opportunities to the ten thousands SA rugby players since they keep been churned out irrespectively of domestic capabilities.

SA rugby misallocate resources. In a country like empoverished SA where infrastructures are lagging behind. Instead of wishing to make a rugby career, arms would be better used to build roads and stuff.

As to being superstars, not really. Superstar status is usually achieved through the international squad, a squad that offers a limited number of spots. A number far exceeded by the number of churned out SA rugby players.

NZ superstars are locked for example.

Money dictates indeed since it would take half a billion squads to absorb all the SA rugby wannabee rugby players chruned every year.

As for the rest, SA rugby supporters can not blame foreigners to steal spots from theirs players, SA rugby franchises do not welcome foreigners. When european sides must welcome SA rugby players.

Oh, wait, they blame quota players so in a way, they probably are on something.
