The following is the SA schools team for the Friday game:- SA Schools: 15 EW Viljoen (Grey College), 14 Grant Hermanus (Paarl Gim), 13 Warrik Gelant (Outeniqua), 12 Daniel du Plessis (Paul Roos), 11 Duhan van der Merwe (Outeniqua), 10 Brandon Thomson (Ermelo), 9 Justin Philips (Waterkloof), 8 Rikus Bothma (captain, Paarl Gim), 7 Jacques Vermeulen (Paarl Gim), 6 PJ Toerien (Garsfontein), 5 RG Snyman (Affies), 4 Daniel du Preez (Kearsney College), 3 Ruan Kramer (Grey College), 2 Joseph Dweba (Florida), 1 Ox Nche (Louis Botha). Replacements: 16 Thomas du Toit (Paarl Boys High), 17 Francois Steyn (Affies), 18 Conrad van Vuren (Nelspruit), 19 Abongile Nonkontwana (St Albans College), 20 Jean-Luc du Preez (Kearsney College), 21 Marco van Vuuren (Transvalia), 22 Dewald Human (Outeniqua), 23 Jurie Linde (Affies). I was hoping that Jakkals Schickerling would play at lock - but he must still be injured. This one is the next Etzebeth and Du Toit. I hope the match would be televised.

Will we be fielding two 25 years old again pretending that they are 17/16 year olds?? Or did the Sharks development scouts not provide us with ones this year.

As well as watching out for Duhan Van Der Merwe you should keep an eye on EW Viljoen

Spooony This is a school team - so I am not sure about the age restriction - I always thought it was 18 years of age. However, some of these big boys are so dumb - you will have to shoot them to get them out of school - so I may be wrong about the age limit. LOL

Saffex Did your son come across some of the players here during his team visit? If so - what did he say about them? There is yet no sign on TV programmes that the game would be televised - but I think it may so I will keep you posted.

No, none of the Outeniqua boys played they were all being rested for their league game that Saturday. We had many injuries and most of the squad was down with the shits, so I think both sides were a mixture of firsts and seconds.

My son just said that the SA schools sides were on another level........bigger, more skilled and played the game at a hell of a pace. He said they did not comit to rucks and mauls, they just ran the ball all the time.

But what is sad to see, is that the SA schools side selected to play England, will not reflect the gap between the schools in England and SA, for politics will play a role as will poor selections synonomous with SA coaches. If the Boks win, it will be only just.

However if the top 10 schools in SA played against the top 10 schools in England, the SA schools would win comfortably is my guess
