I think we will see another good performance from the Lions and improvement from the Sharks and the Bulls.

The Sharks always have good forwards and Mapimpi is a good buy for them but I worry about the defence of Curwin Bosch.

The Bulls will play better rugby under John Mitchell and I think they are the right kind of team to do well with Mitchells stricter discipline.

The Lions have the same core of players that nearly won the competition twice and they need to win Super Rugby if they are going to keep there best players. For the Lions it is very important that Whitely stays fit

The Stormers can also improve but they will struggle in the beginning because they have so many injuries at the start of the season.

Koo s

It is going to be difficult to determine which SA sides will ultimately lead in the conference - I think all the teams will improve on their performances last year.   The one team I am not sure about is the Stormers - but they have some really good youngsters coming through.

I think that on the overall log there will be noticeable improvement.
