The team is as follows:-

15 Willie le Roux, 14 S'bu Nkosi, 13 Lukhanyo Am, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Aphiwe Dyantyi, 10 Handre Pollard, 9 Faf de Klerk, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6 Siya Kolisi (c), 5 Franco Mostert, 4 RG Snyman, 3 Frans Malherbe, 2 Bongi Mbonambi, 1 Tendai Mtawarira

Replacements  : 16 Akker van der Merwe, 17 Steven Kitshoff, 18 Thomas du Toit, 19 Jean-Luc du Preez, 20 Sikhumbuzo Notshe, 21 Ivan van Zyl, 22 Jesse Kriel, 23 Warrick Gelant

I was correct iro two of my comments iro of changes when I suggested that =

*    after some seriously defective performances on both Super Rugby and tests Wilco Louw was going to be rested; and

*     that S-P du Toit would start in the place of either Du Preez or Mostert.   It is likely that Du Toit was selected at 7 because Mostert did not perform well enough for the Lions when he was selected at 7 for their team

However - I am disappointed with the bench and in particular with Kriel being brought in ahead of Esterhuizen.   There is no replacement flyhalf since Jantjies was dropped from the squad.   He was poor against Wales and vanished from sight when he came on against England - the one crucial tackle he was supposed to make on May - he went AWOL.

The retention of Am is just to keep the quota numbers right - he was useless against England.   .

The English team is as follows:-

15 Elliot Daly, 14 Jonny May, 13 Henry Slade, 12 Owen Farrell (captain), 11 Mike Brown, 10 George Ford, 9 Ben Youngs, 8 Billy Vunipola, 7 Tom Curry, 6 Brad Shields, 5 Maro Itoje, 4 Joe Launchbury, 3 Kyle Sinckler, 2 Jamie George, 1 Mako Vunipola

Replacements  : 16 Luke Cowan-Dickie, 17 Joe Marler, 18 Harry Williams, 19 Mark Wilson, 20 Nathan Hughes, 21 Ben Spencer, 22 Danny Cipriani, 23 Denny Solomona

Interesting changes  --

*   Shields starting at 6; and

*   Launchbury starting at 4

Not sure i like the fact that we dont have a backup at 10.

If they target Handre Pollard, they'll need to move Willy to 10 and bring Gelant on at 15....

disrupting our backline tremendously.

The other alternative would be to move Faf to 10 where he played at times for his club.  I was wondering about that one as well and would have rather gone for Du Preez instead of Kriel on the bench.

That last try of  May reduced Jantjies chances to make the team again for a long time to come.

Kolisi had absolutely no claim to fame in the Boks' turnaround - that honour must largely go to Duane Vermeulen. So, why not give him the captaincy and keep Kolisi, but tell him the writing is on the wall.

I also don't like Peter-Steph on the side of the scrum. He is a lock. Period.

Rassie will soon run into deep shit if he does not select a true fetcher.
