I thought Kriel was very good on defense yesterday, he played a big part in shutting down the Lions backline. Only got to see a few minutes of the Sharks/Stormers game unfortunately.

I am always to make changes and did make two above suggestions - but always listen to reasonable suggestions when based on actual performance.   Pakie is very much right here - but it would go straight over Silly Billy's head.  Silly Billy had one right and two total childish BS suggestions ,   Mozart had one reasonable suggestion and one unjustifiable one.

Thanks guys

I saw Kriel get beaten inside a couple of times. Overall, the game was of such poor quality, with missed tackles all over both sides, that I found it difficult to really gauge the quality of certain players. There was a lot of space for Kriel to run into, he's never had trouble doing that, but on the basis of that game, it wasn't evident if he could do more. If we're comparing stats, you could say he bettered Am though. It depends how you look at it.

Am was excellent. He does something you very, very rarely see Kriel do: Draw and pass.

Esterhuizen was far more productive than Damian, who was the worst of the 12s on the day. André, Vorster and Sage were better than Damian. Ward, who came on for André, was also much better.

 Silly Billy

Am looked good a few times on attack - but he became unstuck in defense which is his normal problem. his normal problem.

Now I have had enough of your Andre stories.   What you wrote is mainly airy-fairy stories - what is needed is proof that what you claim actually happened, The only factual situation insofar as Andre is concerned is -

*   he made the pass that was intercepted by Willemse and the latter scored a try; and

*   he was subbed very early at minute 51 and since there was no indication of an injury he was subbed because he was NOT up to standard,

Intercepted   passes indicate a poor reading of the game a nd the actual situation on the field of play.  I have not seen any sign of real life by Esterhuizen during the game - fact is he looked lost during discussions between the players.

You ask me for proof? I am still waiting for you to post your very first piece of verifiable information. In light of the gargantuan amount of information I have posted over the past seven or eight months, you have no business asking me for any proof.

As I said before, we have examples of André getting teammates away into space. Give one example of Damian doing such a thing? You want to speak of poor reading of the game? Look no further than Gangnam Style run towards the touchline, cramping three Stormers players into one big pool of bodies in a heap.

At best, you can call out André for forcing an ill-advised pass. One which would have had a Shark free to run into acres of space. Gangnam Style wouldn't have had the vision to recognise the opportunity. How many times has he hopped on the spot and darted back inside because he couldn't sum up what as around him? I have an entire 2018 test seasons worth of it uploaded. I'd say you are clutching at straws, but you missed those and pulled your own pinky.

What are you talking about getting players away in space?    Did it happen on Saturday at all - there is from what I could see in the game a load of ordinary passes which often enough cause problems for recipients.

There is n comments on what actually happened during the game - which effectively caused the Sharks to lose the game.   Remember we are not discussing your airy-fairy about the tests Andre played in - what is being discussed is what actually happened on Saturday.

I can still not understand your belief that you know more about rugby as a gam e - than coaches and real experts know.   Most of what you have written over the past months has been incredible dribble devoid  of facts and if you try to give facts it tuned out to be hogwash and imaginary,

So back to the game yesterday - both Esterhuizenn and AM let their team down.   Am with his yellow card costing the Sharks 6 points and Esterhuizne with his incredible poor pass  costing them 7 points.  Without those poor instances even a Grade 1 pupil  would have seen a  Sharks win as inevitable.

Did it happen at all? Yes, an d you missed it. The best of all, you cannot tell me one notable contribution from Gangnam Style for the first 60 minutes. Why is that? You think you know better than me, yet you cannot cite any references aside from the intercept. Is that because the intercept was patently obvious? You can only point out obvious details? In the first half Gangnam Style was involved in the kick-off, one rucks clean, one pass and a semi-tackle. He shovelled the ball on quickly in the face of André, so the ball was forced wide too soon. There's one interaction between the two. You cannot justify Gangnam Style and Kriel ahead of André and Am. Thus far the only information you have posted is:

"cost his team"
"became unstuck on defence which is his normal problem"
"what you wrote is airy-fairy stories"
"he made an intercept pass"
"he was subbed very early"
"I have not seen any sign of life in André during the game"
"a load of ordinary passes"
"both André and Am let their team down"
"Am cost the Sharks 6 points with a yellow card"

Talk about waffle. Am I surprised? Not really. Afterall, your assessment of the 2015 Bok vs All Black test in the RC was:

- The Boks "ran from all angles"
- The ball wasn't passed to the loosies so it was an attacking game
- The All Blacks used "standard defence"

You are out of your depth.

Kriel is getting the line speed thing.....Allende lopes up at half pace. That said.....Kriel remains an upper body clinger. A powerful centre like Tuilagi will shake him off like a wet rag. We have no test class centres. Try Willemse at 12.

The wild pass of Esterhuizen and the Am yellow cost the Sharks the game.   All your dribble will not hide it.

A picture of nothing: D AllendeC 0 6 6 5 0 0 0 0 D AllendeC 1 7 2 0 ...six runs, 5 metres, 0. defenders beaten, 2 hops, 1 ball lost. 9 tackle attempts, 2 missed. That's the contribution of the Springbok incumbent in a key game. How many times do we have to look at this picture before a change is made.

Moz and Card, DdA is not tbe Bok solution at 12, but neither is Esterhuizen, why are you hyping AE? It doesn't make sense, both are poor?

André can pressure on defence. He can also distribute and he hits the line like a truck. He has all the ingredients. He isn't the assertive dominator that Frans was, but he is still very good, as we saw last year for the Boks. Considering that he is still in the early stages of establishing his game, that is very promising. He is much better than he is made out to be, and vastly superior to Damian. He made a mistake forcing that pass, but nailing him for that pass when Damian was lauded as the best centre in world rugby for his absolutely shambolic 2015 Super rugby campaign, and losing the Wallaby test all by himself in the same year... we can cut André some slack. Mistakes don't follow André around like flies.

And in the context of Saturday's game. André was more productive despite the Shark backline being denied any kind of platform. That says a heck of a lot for Damian's inability to do anything. Of all the South African teams on the weekend, the Stormers pack was the best and gave their backs the most controlled possession and hounded the opposition all game. The Sharks couldn't control their ball.

AM did give one very good pass that looked like a real center. He seems to pass better to the right side, than the left.

Am and André are good at drawing before the pass. This is the first time since Jake that we have seen the Sharks play without that annoying shuffle-ball. That was a deep flaw in Plumtree's sides as well. Whoever is making this change is a good coach. Even when they crash it up, they'll go in pairs. Such as André's runs with a forward on his outside, he has options. Back to Am, he has a good rapport with the Shark back-three.

You say Am seems to pass better to the right. I'll have a look for that. It didn't stand out upon first viewing. I'll watch again.

Thus fairy tale  is continuing unabated and the story is spread more and more desperately,   Why?  Bercause they hate certain players,   I have watched Esterhuizen playing since his Under 20 days and how he knocked on a ball with an open tryline in the Under 20 WC game against England, which the juniors lost by one point.

He is a very strong player physically - but not the brightest center around.   He was apparently tutored by Fat Fransie, who by 2013 was the worst center in Super Rugby and got worst afterwards.   He makes bad kicks, like one on Saturday that Mozart mentioned in an earlier contribution,   This player is not a test level player.

Funny how the same members go for Mostert, because he has elements of the game reminding them of Matfield - another physical-deficient lock forward,  The latter prior to 2011 was a top class player - by 2015 he was a handicap in the Springbok team

Esterhuizen was regarded by White as not good enough - his pace was even slower than Whute's pet Fat Fransie - and in 2014 he tried him to play a few games at no 7.   That experiment  failed and in 2015 he replaced Fransie when the latter got a five week ban.   Granted he was by then better than Fransie - but so was virtually every other center in Super Rugby,

He has not improved since 2015 and is still a plodder - a rather clumsy one at that.   He is easily tackled by single players and is rarely requiring more tan one player to bring him down.   Instead of evaluating his performances in an appropriate and proper way,  he is used as a vehicle to attack De Allende and Silly Billy writes endless praise songs about him.

I agree with Draad - as bad as De Allende is at center - Esterhuizen is worse in all aspects of the game.   To ignore his deficiencies and write fairy stories about him and then goes on to demonize Kriel and praise Am - who is in the main a further handicap for the  Sharks backline,  Together they cost the Sharks 13 points on Saturday,  but that fact is ignored by Silly Billy.

You are the most bigoted poster here. Hence, you are caught in at least one lie every day. I have posted an entire test seasons worth of material that emphatically debunks you. The game on the weekend debunks you as well. The only reason you clung to Damian is because of your hate for Frans. You fell for the shallow media hype machine. That's it, plain and simple.

Here's a question: In all of André's runs, tell me when he was easily tackled by one player who required no support. I also challenge you to find one such reference in his 2018 tests.

You can never debunk anything - since you are always writing total delusions and fairy tales on site,   Debunking can only be ba sd on facts - not fiction and you have no real facts rto prove otherwise.

Go and watch games Esterhuzien plays in and see how many tacklers it takes to tackle him and how many are needed in the case to De Allende.

Incidentally I have changed my 12 selection above to Sage!!!!  Thanks for reminding on that one - eve though you are too dumb to realize it.

I know exactly how teams defend both players. I know exactly how both players take contact. The question is, do you? I asked you for some references to back up your claims. Low and behold, you are drawing blanks yet again. You never have any information.

You missed out on one issue and that is that opposing teams assign a number of plyers to defend against De Allende and that is not necessary in the case of Esterhuizen.   Go and see what actually happen in games and if you are really knowing anything about the game you may recognize what happens in reality.

Let me give you a hint  - Esterhuizien is physically strong, but clumsy making him an easy  target to defend against.   It is a rarity to see more than 1 player needed to bring him down - unlike De Allende where two or even three players are needed virtually all the time to tackle De Allende.

Stop telling me to go see. I've already done my homework. I know exactly what happens. Now you tell me where these instances of André being taken by one defender alone are.

Damian is a mosquito hitting a windscreen when carrying the ball up. He relies on his strong leg drive to get behind the initial tackler to provide his team with treacle ball. Weak in the upper body, so he has to hunch his shoulders and burrow into contact.
