These are my ratings, probably have to watch the game again, but I'll just shoot from the hip

Beast - 6. Had a few good runs in OpenPlay but gave away a few penalties and free kicks at scrum time.

Strauss - 8, got on the board and carried really well. Managed to poach a few balls in the process.

Jannie - 6, much better performance, but didn't dominate in the scrum

Estebeth - 7, full  off energy, gained meters and put in the hard work.

Flop van der Merwe - 1, what a useless player. Lucky not to get a red. Cost the boks momentum.

Louw - 6, very quiet. Few carries, tackles but hardly anything amazing

Alberts - 6, bit pedestrian. Made some carries but very quiet.

Vermeulen - 6, would have been an eight had it not been for a lazy slap down led him to being off the field for 13 min.

Du Preez - 9, great to have back, fantastic vision, got the forwards in the game, great pass to willie for his try in the corner.

Steyn - 5, tried to spread the ball, but never got going. Got caught in the midfield a few times. Kicking out of hand was poor and telegraphed most of the back line play.

Habana - 6, never got in the game. Few touches but needed to have some space created by his inside backs.

De Villiers - 8, great distribution, good line breaks and solid on defence.

JJ - 7, one fantastic run to create kitchens try. Showed what he can do in space. Solid on defence.

Willie 7, great try in the corner but did get into the game with his play making skills that we really needed to get the bonus point.

Kircner 7, good finishing for his try, rolled back the years, back to the days when he was playing for griquas. Took the ball to the line and solid in the air.

Agree on Fourie du Preez who was pure class but I think you're being a little harsh on Morne Steyn . . . oh and I'd award Beast an extra point just for that outrageous dummy!
Well done Bokke! Pity about the 4 try bonus point. Why were we kicking for poles when we had a good lead and they were down a man? Should have gone for the tries then.

I agree with most of the above ratings - bit for the following-

*  Mirne Steyn 4 - very poor and aimless kicking - missed the line with two penalties

*  Vermeulen 4.5 - yellow card and gave away 3 penalties - no protection provided to ball carrier to prevent turnover in possession or penalties.

*  Alberts 4,5 -   did very little, gave away a penalty but no protection for ball carrier

*  Louw 4,5  - same reason as Alberts

I would have given Willie an 8 - he actually was very good.

you jarpies are so funny when you try talk fly half play, it just isnt your thang boys. yeppo good on the boks dont know whats going to happen next eek but it doesnt look good. ewa has had no ansewrs in all his tests so far, we need a new coach pronto. you guys need a real 12 who can replace jean, the gys been inspirational leader and solid but he really isnt the quality 12 that you guys want if you really want dynamic backplay. his connection with his 10s and his awareness of option runners has never been his strength. id rate him a 5 in terms of wallaby standards today.

Pfffffft! Ihi rates Jean de Villiers a 5 in terms of "Wallaby standards"? Wehe . . . don't think we're too interested in dropping down to current Wallaby standards, chump.

If Jean is so bad why did he end up out playing lileafano. I think the aussies need to find a new tean. Yes and I do know about fly half being a former fly half myself. The good fly halls know where to pu their kicks. Du Preez made steyn look far better than what he is. Where as I would have love to see lambie playing with du Preez, but Meyer keeps giving him bit parts. Really believed lambie could have got us going to get the fourth try

Jean was super today. As were most of the Boks. I thought the Beast was struggling at the scrum ....and our lineouts wobbled  a bit. The one big problem was the stupid unnecessary yellow by Flip, who up till then was having perhaps his best test. We never got back to the pre yellow equilibrium

Mozart

So this time it is not Engelbrecht that was not up to standard - it was F lip.   There were quite a few glaring deficiencies in the performance today - that is why we are going to lose next week and lose badly.   Start with our penalty machines - the loosies - and have a look again at Morne - could he played a worse test if he tried?

Mike I think you tend to be a bit harsh on your accessments of players and imo not a disapointing performance overall...yes Willie has the X factor and Fourie Du Preez was almost brilliant in his display...certainly is the booster that raises the level of performance.

I'm not negative in the forth coming clash...I believe that the Boks will defeat the AB's and that's not disrespecting them...I still think they are the best side in the world but they are not undefeatable.

Morne....nine runs 37 metres...nine tackles no misses....some super kicks. Not a perfect performance, largely because he tried for too much distance to touch,  but a lot better than the ghost who was opposing him. Mike your lies are offensive.

<br/>

And if you look carefully at my comment you will see I said Flip had perhaps his best test....but the forearm cost the Boks. Is that wrong, a simple yes or no will do.

I thought that flip performed better in the past and could almost live with hin the team but another yellow for dirty play again. How many does he have?

Hav3e you watched the game at all?   Morne's kicking game was a bloody insult  - I have never seen a worse display by any flyhalf on international level kicking the way Morne did in this test.   It would not be reflected in stats - you can quote it as much as you want.

I did not lie about the two penalties where he missed to find touch - now did I.   I did not lie about his aimless kicking - handing over possession to the Wallabies - now did I.

Even the commentators said that the ball should be carried and not kicked away - yet Morne kicked it away and the kicks was really aimless and useless.

Some kicks was according to you ineffective because he tried for too much distance.   BALLS.   Virtually all kicks he launched was ineffective and that is a fact of life.   Your insults is offensive and an effort to hide away the truth.
