Watching highlights. Aussie weren't smashed. They were actually in control for 70 mins in the game. Unfortunately for them poor disciplin and good execution from SA buried them. Not an all convincing performance from SA, but they got the win they were looking for. Stand out players:


SA:


Pat Lambie: Was very good, goal kicking. His crucial try that sealed it for the Boks, striking comeback from the talented kid.


Marcell Coetzee: Generally good around the feild, great try


Schaulk Burger: Prooved his critics wrong


Jan Serfointain: Very good


Cobus Reinach: Should be starting every game at 9 for the Boks


Aus:


Tevita Kudrani: Very good


Adam- Ashley Cooper: Very good per usual


Michael Hooper: Same goes for Hooper

Have to agree, Hougaard is pedestrian in service and has been in decline ever since the WC.


Reinach was electric and highlighted Hougaards lack of spark as did Schalk in highlighting Oupas ordinary performance.

Can't agree. Highlights don't tell the story. All of Aussies points came in 4 minutes of play.  Foley penalty game after pressure from a loose Bok pass in Aussie half of the field. Aussie try was also against the run of the play.
Boks had 60% possession, 62% territory, 180 runs vs 127 runs, 465 metres vs 355 metres. Who was under pressure? Aussies who yielded 13 penalties to Boks 4
This was not unlike a typical AB victory with the pressure eventually paying against a tired defense. 
Next test should be an epic - Boks won't be chasing a bonus point victory - and they are starting to hit their stride.
The poor territorial and goal kicking will not pass muster against the ABs though.
