SA Rugby must really try their utmost to keep him playing in SA even beyond 2029...national treasure and future Bok skipper for sure.

I don't like him for captain.

Even if there's only a slight possibility that it might' place a restriction on how he naturally plays.

I think the skip needs to be more of a steady hand that plays within himself.

Sacha lives on the edge. That's where he thrives. I don't think we should naturally assume that our best player should be captain.

Marx should probably take over from Siya next year and until after the WC. Then, who knows...?

The saying 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' applies 101% in this case. He's far too young besides it's way too early in his career for him to walk away from an environment that got him to where he is right now.

The zone that he's in is working for him just fine.

Sacha signed a contrqct wih teh Strormers until 2029 - funded ny outsiderss, I think I know who the outsider are - Ripert and Motsepe. with Erasmus driving the process as well,

Great to see we can keep him at home. Pollard stocks are plummeting at the moment.

This dude is not crazy. Moving to club rugby in the north would have been extremely difficult for him and would have exposed his lack of talent. This guy is paraded as good on the uneven stage of international rugby. While confronted to national rugby, he would have collapsed.

From liberals, this kind of remark must be interpreted as an acknowledgement of intelligence.

How Sacha has changed selection logic at the Boks;

Historically; Pick the best players

Rassie; Pick the best players for the gameplan

Now; Pick the best players to go with what Sacha is doing.

If that is the case, it will take a lot of very biased in favour of SA rugby refereeing to win a game.

One more thing about Sacha____his ability to pick the ball up, off the deck, running flat out. Amazing….the only other player I recall with that skill was the young Frans Steyn.

Not a doom prophet, but let's hope that Rassie and Sacha continue to get on.

Big coaches and bigger players have a knack for clashing and ruining a good thing.

I saw this on Rugby 365. I think the deal was already signed but that it was only possible because of extra funding by outsiders, So it is likely somewhere around R25 million a year. Rassie would have found the outsiders invovled - my guess being that it is mainly through Rupert, and his rugby partner Motsepe. For them R25 million is like their pocket money for a month.

It will depends on Sacha putting the team first, and I don’t see a problem there...he is exuberant while playing rugby...as he grows in the team, he can only get better...he is still very humble for what he has achieved as a youngster...amazingly calm head on his youthful shoulders...he must be managed carefully to keep him fit...that will be the challenge as he goes all out with almost no regard to put his body on the line...I think Rassie is more than up for it...player management is one of his strengths...

I don't think Sacha will play this weekend against the Bulls, His next assignment would be next weekend against Harlequens in Cape Town,

Draad - according to Sacha's father Erasmus wa oin contact with him constantly in 2023 when he had an injury problem, Sacha is a protegee of Erasmus and so is Wilemse, Both have links to Rupert and Motsepe,

Yes the only issue with Sacha is that he has no off button - throws his body into everything

Staying fit is going to be his biggest challenge

I agree Dave. He likes to get stuck in.

Let the forwards cover his channel more.

As Burman van Zyl did with Naas.
