What a season.

He can improve on his try assists and his tackle count could be tad higher but his carries, breaks, kick meters and tries are off the charts. Think he averaged near 2 tries a game on the EOYT.

Interestingly, his try assists rate is very low, practically non-existent. One has to wonder if that's because of who he has playing inside him. I mean, he can do everything else, but for an assist, somebody else actually has to be there to score the try - DDA isn't the guy. Probably the strongest argument for Willemse to play there...or Hooker who would naturally chase Sacha and keep up.

It's crazy to think that this his first proper year as the first choice starter.

He got better as the year worse on and his profile is bigger than it was 8 months ago.

I think he's be chuffed.

I am.

The most interesting player in rugby…..his eyes light up when he can counter ruck! What other flyhalf does that. And those runs. They often start out as a vague cross field run at three quarter pace, but Sacha knows where his gap is. Then suddenly he puts on the after burners, finds the gap and it all looks so easy.

It's in the subtle things too. Check the first try against Ireland. He's lining up against Prendergaps as Reinach gathers the ball to pass, but by the time the pass reaches him he has already drifted clear of Prendergaps and is running right at O'Brien, easily opening up the overlap. This is simple but significant given how many of these clear overlaps we've seen our centers waste over the years - and in fact in this very game.

Agreed, his feistiness makes it so easy to like him and his scores show that no matter how the game tightens or what the rules are, these next level humans rise above it.

All I know is that I used to mock the Kiwis about how DC was their golden boy.

Now, every time Sacha gets tackled, i watch like a concerned parent to make sure he gets up okay.

Great talent and how has improved ten fold since five years ago when he came in for the Stormers in the final as a 19 year old.

My only reservation is that he can be extremely physical, not bad but you don't want your 10 to play like your 12. He has a long career ahead of him and any injuries will take away his most lethal weapon, which is his pace. That is what happened to Pollard. Came on very direct and physical but then over time reverted to go more in the pocket.

You look at the top flyhalfs that lasted, they all looked after themselves.

Hope he can develop further
