16-7 halfway

Not the one sided afair all and sunder thought it would be. Well done to the Sharks for making a game of it, but I fear the travel would get to them in the second half.

Score board doesn't reflect the rugby played. What a pity Sharks blubered that try. Sharks clearly the better side in first half.

Kiwi ref missing collap sing of mauls by old crusts!

Will travel fatigue effect them in second half.

Esterhuizen has no zip - doesn't impose himself! Du tot too lardy and punches well below his weight.

Old crust play the ball on the ground! This refs misses a lot. Spoils great attacki ng position

Turned on for 2 minutes to see the ball being played on the ground.

Why does one bother!?

Sharks dominating the game but ref and their own silly mistakes leave them behind on the board.

Not nice to watch.

What a load of crud.  That was not taken from the mark!

Unbelievable stuff from the ref.

Well we can look forward to a fairer contest when lions play. This is typical kiwi crap.

Even the kiwi commentators mentioning the refs calls. These kiwis are crooks! How the heck do they allow a kiwi ref to officiate!

First of all there were some dodgy calls against the Sharks for sure, SANZAR appoints the ref not NZ Beeno so dont go blaming that on us.

Crusaders still the better team, to many errors and poor defence from the Sharks letting in easy points.

Good hit out for us but we will need to be better against stronger opposition next week

Job done Saders, well done too. Congratulations.

Regardless of who the ref is or where he comes from...is it too much to ask to simply get basic calls right?

The Saders would still have won but why is there such an awful gap in reffing quality between the N and S hemisphere?

Best result = my team wins

2nd best result = my team looses

Worst result = Ref screws up the game

The Southern Hemisphere and Northern Hemisphere have different perspectives on how rugby should be. In the south attacking rugby is a must, that means pesky things like set pieces and rucks and kicking are things which must be suppressed. Defences must be depowered. They have a vision of a game akin to rugby league. Referees are primarily there to police style, not call a fair game. Ever since the IRB changed its stance in 2008 the officiating of the game drastically increased in calling a frustrating game. However, so long as the spectacle suits the mandate, all is well. It's damaged Boks rugby, as they are caught between traditional identity and trying to emulate a culture that is alien to them. This is one of the reasons why I'd like South Africa to leave the South Hemisphere. We pay the most for so little. Super rugby is not the glorious competition it once was. It's no longer beneficial to us, and we aren't even appreciated. Why stay? Let New Zealand and Australia sit on the backside of the planet and regress in bliss.

Well said Plum all one wants is a fair deal. None to be found in kiwiland. Honest Justin points out the errors again and again and so the bent kbbs hate him as well. Hhahahahahahahaha

That SA was, what, two quota players away from scoring an impervious win... The curse of SA rugby.

One sided game, with one team in total control, dictating the terms of the game and people on this board still managing to see the better side in the SA heavily quota loaded team.

When NZ scored a 57 0 against SA, the SA side was also the better side.

In the NH, referees are not there to call a fair game either.

Regardless of how they're reffing, with the technology available, there should be way less simple mistakes being made.

I hear you Plum. It amazes me how they are eagle-eyed enough to see into a ruck and find a legitimate infringement but fail to see that a guy sending his shoulder into another guy's face is also illegal. Or the classic New Zealand foul play of having an attacker hold defenders to allow their ball carrier to get behind our defence. So many things like that. You can feel how the ref is managing the result and that ruins any sense of enjoyment. Some will scoff and say we are sore losers. It's not about a loss, but how the game is left with question marks a over it. What if? You'll never known the game that would have been had the ref just done what he was paid to do. I can live with a loss in a fair game. Not like it, but live with it.
