Following on to what Sharky said on another thread. I think it is time you guys kept things decent. I am all for banter, insults and even the odd swear word, but I think it is fair to say that nobody here likes or needs the really personal attacks! I have never met either of you, but going on what has been said by others that have met you, you both seem to be decent blokes.
Moz, even though Saff's real name has been openly strewn around on this site, and even though your insults, true or otherwise, have gotten really personal, not once has he used your real name on here. I have no idea who you really are, and I think that is testament to Saff's decency. I would assume that a person of your obvious standing would appreciate that?
Saff, I have noticed that Moz tends to retaliate more than attack. I am sure that if you could just lay off on the personal stuff, he'd do the same.
I know I sound like a choirboy, but sooner or later something is going to be said that pushes things too far, and one of you will leave, be kicked or whatever, and then we all lose out.
My 2 cents

Firstly, I dont think you could call it a contest - I mean look what happened re the predictions bit. Bwahahhahahaha snapster and ou maaaikie were burnt toast.
Next, I maybe wrong but when did Moz disclose details about Dave's real name?
But yes it does get a bit nasty at times and a lifting of the tone would be nice.
Bluebok how are we going to locate missing posters. A question to all.

Moz didn't disclose Dave's real name. It was all his own doing. He used a picture of himself as an avatar and, at more or less the same time liked SARugby on Facebook resulting in a link to his Facebook page appearing on the site. Becs did the same and her Facebook page was also exposed.
The same thing happened now with Twitter. The key is to keep  your private stuff private yourself. I know Moz' true identity and even at times when we had heated arguments I never disclosed his identity because he never made it obvious that he doesn't care about it. Dave, on the other hand has, in the past and on another board, made it clear that he doesn't care about it.

Beans, the prediction thing is an issue which is still under debate. I am specifically talking about attacking the man and not the issue.
I didn't say Moz disclosed them, but they have been spread out for all to see. Even so, Saff never exposed Moz's personal details. People can be petty with such things, but Saff wasn't.
Cera, I am just saying, If Saff was the greasy lawyer he has been made out to be by some, he could easily have done it, but he didn't.
I am all for locating the other posters, just not quite sure how.

Bluebok ou snapster is not beyond redemption and I have always had a soft spot for his confused and wayward condition !Moz would never stoop that low as to disclose snapsters identity and congrats to snapster for showing he has some limits to his transgressions!
I do recall cerudunce windpomp that my name was splashed about by those twits ruining kamp ss and that you tried in vain to excuse their abominable behaviour. Now you are all for not disclosing names. Seems you are hopelessly confused AGAIN! Bwahhahahahahahahahaha

Beeno, like Dave, you were partly to blame for your stuff being disclosed. I have never condoned the detail in which it was done. I only explained how it happened. You, yourself, disclosed where you worked at the time and once your real name was out in the open, anybody with half a brain cell could trace you. Had you not been so adamant to prove your qualifications/status, it would never have happened.
If I claim to have achieved something and someone doesn't believe me, then tough sh!t. I will not go out of my way to prove it. Not to such an extent that my personal information is disclosed in any case.

Excuse me, I have never used a picture of myself on here and it is news to me that my facebook page has been exposed.
I joined the facebook page of the former site. But I have never used a photo on any of these forums.
The supersupporter forum can even attest to that, yet I know people there have seen photos of me, I presume on my Facebook page. Some there are my friends, but others I have no idea how they have seen my picture and I did ask about that.

So to actually say I have exposed myself by putting up a photo is totally untrue.

If I wish to provide details to someone, I do it privately and if I wish to have someone as a friend on Facebook, that is done privately too....like Sharkie, BBS, Spook, Duke and Mata from the SS site. But I have never put a photo of myself on a forum. I don't even know how.

Insofar as the prediction issueis concerned I must tell you I did not take any side.  I said that Mozart and others should bring evidence indicating exactly where  Saffex made predictions.   General references to and unhappiness with selections - as well as stating that he would "lay a bet"  does meet the requirement of making predictions.  There are threads where predctions are made and it should be asy enough to find his predictions - that is if there were any.
If they came up with any of those - I would have agreed with Mozart and that would have been the end of the story - but to date the evidence provided was as best a deduction from what Saffex wrote about especially the selection of Morne Steyn at flyhalf.   That strictly speaking is not a prediction in any event.
That being said I think there are some fundemental differeinces in the outlooks of Mozart ad Saffex repsecitvely.  Mozart does not like change and would defend present incumbents to the team to unbelievable levels - while sniping endlssly against younger players.    Saffex seems to think that virtually all older players must go and be replaced by youngsters.
There is in fact merit in the arguments of both - but they take extreme positions in direct opposition to each other - and there is no middle ground.   In essence I agree with Mozart on some players, but disagree with him on others.   Same with  Saffex.
I think moderation is called for - both should stop calling each other names and both should stop personal attacks - it is not worth it.

I did not say that you used a picture, Becs. I said that you also "liked" SARugby on Facebook and that link was published on the SARugby site. Not by you, but by the website. They used to have "Facebook likes" on the right hand side of the web pages, similar to the current Twitter tweets. That was the reason why I never "liked" SARugby on Facebook and do not follow them or any site on Twitter. I do not even do that with Supersupporter and they also have a Facebook page and a Twitter account.

But my name has never been given in full, just a picture, amongst many others. I always had no idea how so many people on SS claimed to know what I looked like.

Blue I hear you and no Moz has never revealed my name, not that he or anyone here knows it as the name I use is not my registered first name, its my middle name, not that I am bothered about my name being used in the first place, I have nothing to hide.

Vlagshit, you are speaking crap I never revealed my name intentionally, if it was linked through Facebook that was not with a view to having my identity revealed, but as I have said I don't give a toss either way.

Mike if I wanted to replace all older players with younger ones, why do Habana, JP, Frans, Beast, Bismark, Strauss, Brussouw and Vermeulen still feature in my Bok side?

You should try thinking before you speak crap.

Beenkop I expect nothing less from you regarding the prediction debate, you are too stupid to see the facts for what they are......keep swimming.

I doubt Moz and I can be civil as we would get bored with it all.......we have tried.

Bottom line is that neither of us take it personally, we hardly lose sleep over me calling him old and him calling me fat. Maybe if I was short, fat and bald it would hit a nerve.......its all just a laugh off

Becs, those were links to the different FB pages of the people who "liked" the SARugby FB page. Simple as that. I would not "bet my house on it" () but I am sure that you also revealed your real name on SS. It was all in the same thread. Someone suggested that we post pictures of ourselves, or something to that effect, and there were also discussions about the origin of our nicknames. I can clearly remember Barlee saying that his was a combination of his and his wife's names. Gen disclosed her name, as it was quite obvious. Duke also revealed his name and he even posted several pictures of himself.

Tend to agree with Mike that they both have really good points on some players, and I disagree on others. If they both don't mind the insults and stuff then fair enough and let them get on with it - both are good, entertaining posters. Probably best to leave the accusations of racism to a minimum though - that's bordering on offence.

Well blessed are the peacemakers.....but they usually get  trampled on by the combatants. You are engaged in a perilous activity here Bloo. To quote a character in Dune "I see schemes within schemes".

But I can assure you I have been called pretty much everything on these Boards, and I am now impervious to insults. I have my rules, which mostly come down to an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth (if I still have one to trade). Although I will always respond positively to a friendly message. For the rest it's mostly a free for all, except for me religion, race and family should be excluded.

Here's to the last man standing.

Moz, agree on your listed exclusions. And please don't take my peacemaker role on this thread for as a sign that I always assume that role. I can be plenty hostile, and spend enough of my time in life as the combatant.
My point is simple, logic dictates that if the level of hostility between you and Saff continues to escalate, it will reach a point where someone will get kicked off the site. You guys, and anyone else for that matter, can do and say whatever they want and I guarantee you it won't offend me. But I also find the arguments from both of you very entertaining, so selfishly, i'd like you both to hang around.
Simple!

Understood.  These things usually escalate, explode and then subside for a while. Board participation is always highest when the dogs of war are roaming the B oard.

You should read what I wrote - I said virtually all older players - not all.   Of the players on your list all but Habana and Bismarck is younger than 30 years of age, in other words in their prime performance years.   I regad the older than 30 players as older players - so virtually the whole list of players you mentioned cannot eb regarded as older players in my book.

I am not ally to anybodyy - I take the course of objectivity and fairness.  At times I have even agreed with you about issues - but that is hard - since your opinions are entirely based o prejudice - not rugby performances of players.

Oh sure OOM you are very objective and your opinions are not prejudiced at all. Even when you erroneously berated Matfield for weak scrumming behind the tighthead when he was behind the looshead, you were only concer ned about the tightheads health....and when you blamed Jacobs for terrible play in a game he wasn't even playing in, you were only concerned that he might not be realizing his full potential.

What a plank.

Mozart
Matfield a good scrumming lock - are you bananas?    Obviously you are - Matfield is weak in every function of the Tight 5 and he is -
*   gpood in line-outs - but can be erratic in crumnch situations;*   moonlighting in the backline, making his tackle count look good
For the rest he is a dead loss.   I am not the only one sayoing that - there are thousands of rugby lovers who shares that opinion.   I spoke to a friend of mine in Australia and his first question when we discussed the Ellis Park test was - "What the hell is Matfield doing in the Springbok team?"
I did not raise that one - but I have the same question.

Mike, whilst I agree that we are showing no ambition for the future by playing a 37 year old matfield ahead of youngsters like Willemse, you simply cannot under value the contribution that matfield has made.

He may not be the most physical lock but a lot of scrumming comes purely down to technique and not power/grunt, and over his years of experience he has picked up some good scrumming habits/skills.

We don't beat the AB's and Wallabies with a lock who adds nothing to the tight 5, simple as that, so Victor must be doing something right.

Again, I'll stress the point that by no means am I agreeing with Victor's selection, I think there are better options out there BUT he did contribute nonetheless.

My team (injury permitting) for the RWC would be:
1. Beast 2. Bizzy 3. v/d Merwe 4. Etzebeth 5. Willemse 6. Coetzee 7. Du Plessis 8. Vermuelen. 9. Du Preez 10. Pollard 11. Habana 12. Serfontein 13. De Allende 14. Hendricks 15. Le Roux

So not that different to the moment, with a gradual progression with some of the older players and the experience coming from Beast, Bismarck, Vermuelen, Du Preez, Habana

No Ceradyne, I have never revealed my name, just that I am called Rebecca and that is where the name Becs comes from. This was discussed when someone thought I was male and had some kind of love for David Beckham, my name being a poorly spelt version of his nickname ! I also pointed out that my friend that registered me had to take that name as all other versions of my name were already registered.
I still do not know how so many people on SS had seen what I looked like and were discussing it. It really was a bit disconcerting. But, I have nothing to hide. I am what I am and I have had such horrible things said about me and to me over the years that really I should be impervious to anything further.
I would also think it was difficult to establish who exactly I was just by a photo on a list of facebook folk anyway. There are no names and there are other females. I have no idea who most of the guys are or what they look like. Only the ones I know personally.

Have you ? Why ? Personally I would never bother to look anyone up unless they were added as a friend of mine and I only look up their private photo albums when requested to do so. I am perfectly happy to retain the anonymity of posters if they so wish. I wouldn't dream of telling anyone a persons real name or anything else if they didn't wish it to be told, nor would I look them up unless personally requested to do so.
Saffex did not post any of his details on the former site so I do not think he should have had them relayed anywhere else. That to me is ridiculous.

As I say, I have nothing to hide.I am just a normal person, as you have obviously seen !!!
