I was watching the 2010 Springbok-Wallaby test played in Pretoria on ESPN. Guess who was the scrummie in that test? Easy - the answer was Hougaard.
Positive - his passing to Butch James on flyhalf was quicker than it was this season.
Negatives - He got caught with the ball in possession 4 times. In two cases the Springboks retatined the ball - in the other two cases there was a turnover in possession. All four cases was in critical situations that could have affected the ultimate outcome of the game.
Summary -Easy to assess comparative to his performance this year. Positive largely eliminated this year - because of slowing down of passing - negatives got worse.
