Well I proved once that a simple computer model could win these things...after which there didn't seem to be much point. But by all means lets have Fat Dave making predictions along with Mike....hahahaha.

These fantasy rugby expert games measure the performance with only some of the data points. Additionally they treat all positions as the same. A prop could get buckled in every scrum, a lock could lose every ball thrown to them, but still do well in the fantasy reality.
They are no reflection of rugby expertise. The best coaches in the world would choose different teams than what the fantasy league suggests are the best teams.

Perhaps, but we are all playing by the same rules so each of us can take into account the points scoring system of Fantasy rugby.
Anyway, it does result in more rugby enjoyment & you do learn a lot about the players.

Just_Win, please note that Moffie doesn't understand the difference between a prediction pool (where you predict the winning team and the scores) and a Fantasy game (where you select a team of players who score points based on performance).
I did try to explain the difference to him once before but he's not bright enough to grasp the distinction . . . and here he is, literally years later, still thinking that you're talking about a prediction pool.
Good luck getting the pompous old fop to join something where his ignorance and bluster might be exposed. He prefers telling people after the game that he knew what was going to happen, who was going to win and who was going to perform.

You cannot make a rugby illiterate like Mozart get to participate in Fantasy selection of teams. He believes the only function of a prop is to scrum and the only function of a lock is to take line out balls. Avvording to him the only function of a flyhalf is to kick at goal and you can go on and on.
Appatrently Sharkbok knows too little of the game as well. "Additionally they treat all positions as the same. Absolute rubbish - every player penalized for poor play - whatever position they play in. Buckiling in scrums leading to penalties cost player valuable points. Losing onw throw line out balls gives added points to the opposing player.
The players who do not earn points are those who produce nothing - a prop who aside form scrumming does nothing in other format of play such as tackling, ball carries and making turnovers - even scoring tries. Those who do nothing gets near to aero points. Those who do the scrumming and do extra work outside scrumming gets points for both.
Fact is since Mozart and Ceradunce are rugby illiterates - with serious hanf-ups about certain non-performing players - they cannot take part in a competiotion where performance by players determine the results of the competition itself. Hell - Mozart does not even know the difference between Fantasy tyeam selection and final results of games - wha t a dunce.

JW, please put the instructions on how to sign up. Does SA Rugby have its own league?
I might try it out. The main reason that I do not do this for SuperXV is that I do not know enough about the Australian/New Zealand players- except for test level players.
I usually only watch the SuperXV games that contain South African players, and sometimes I dont even watch the away games when it is an SA team at the bottom of the table.
