Have seen some of Outeniqua on Youtube, they have 10 players in the SWD side. They have two fat props, one is 130kg and an absolute lardy lump, how he gets through a whole game is beyond me.
Our side is very young, with 7 of them being 16, my little man turned 16 on Monday. They are missing a prop, 2 x locks, flanker and wing on this tour, not sure of the reasons they never toured, might have been financial......big loss in the tightfive.......but they have taken a big group of players - 1sts, 2nds and U15's.
They struggled to get good fixtures as many of sides the coach approached could not accomadate them.......I presume sides have league games on the weekend.....I also know that our director of rugby, a Saffer and good mate of mine, inherited the tour on his arrival a year ago, so had little time to sort out fixtures - I know he tried very hard.
They are due to tour SA in two years time again - will be my sons final year. They had one hell of an age group side so should be a good side in their final year. We tend to get a few SA'n and Kiwi lads on exchange every year. They tend to target big SA tightforwards and NZ backs. They have a SA prop in the side this year, my guess is that he had a one way ticket to SA on tour as he has just finished school, He has WP U19 trials
