SANZAR rule swinging arm of Treeby worthy of six week suspension

Only a penalty at the time but in real terms worthy of a six week suspension...sounds like president Zuma was refereeing that one ..

Six-week ban (+4 weeks because it was an SA team), (-7 weeks as a New Zealand player)= three weeks. .....

 ...knocking out a player with a swinging arm to the head = a penalty, play on in South Africa only = unprecedented  = dodgy yarpy match officials realising the first yellow cost the home team two tries so a second had to be avoided at all costs...   

 There was plenty of poor discipline in that game on both sides.   The ref apparently was not happy with the situation.   In the case where Duffie was yellow-carded the first time he was not the only guilty one and was a bit unfortunate.   The Blues were off-side four times in the red zone and he was involved in the last of the four times the ref called off-side.  When he yellow-carded mentioned that he called them off-side 4 times and gave the Stormers four advantages because of that.  
Duffie was daft when he dived on Kolbe - also in the red zone and he also deserved a card for that one - two yellows result in a red card.
Treeby is useless and I have no problem with his banning.   However, it happens fairly frequently that a player gets banned for dangerous play after the referee failed to even penalize the player.   I think the last example of that was Whitelock.
Incidentally Etzebeth got yellow-carded - and deservedly so - which resulted in two of the Blues tries.   He seemed to start problems in school yard bully tactics all the time and has been warned about that in the past.   That push at Ioane was unnecessary and maybe he would learn from that.

That incident was totally unnecessary.   Ioane was walking away doing nothing when Etzebeth gave him a push in the back without any reason whatsoever.   Maybe he would learn that if he wants to play that way he should get psychological help as to anger management.
If he wants to establish control - he should do that not by promoting off-the-ball incidents - but the way he plays in the game.    That was why I was upset from the start the incident - that actually was a great help to the Blues and kept them in the game through scoring of two tries.

 Treeby is learning if you play for a SA side the consequences are very different. He is probably in shock.

 You are right for the first time ever beeno, he cant believe how lightly he was delt with and only got 3 weeks. No one obviously told the panel he is a Kiwi otherwise he would have got 9 weeks. Still since he plays for a SA team the paper bag full of $$$$ would have been handed over to minimise the sentence and he was probably instructed to put on a saffa accent
