in a galaxy far far away,,,

a new thread i will be updating throughout the season which will keep track of the interstate rumbles between the SANZAR conferences.

so far,,

NZ are 1 from 4 - 25%
SA are 3 from 6 - 50%

OZ are 3 from 3 - 100%

well done to OZ who are off to a perfect start, but the road ahead is still very long and it will be interesting to see the progression of these interstate wars which i will update every round, :o)

every match bar the waratahs v brumbies was a inter-SANZAR match and here are the following results,,,

Chiefs 36–20 Stormers
Rebels 19–25 Crusaders
Hurricanes 60–27 Cheetahs
Highlanders 29–31 Force
Lions 39–36 Blues
Sharks 35–20 Reds

and this takes the record too,,,

NZ are 4 from 10 - 40%
SA are 5 from 10 - 50%

OZ are 5 from 6 - 83%

since the thread started, NZ have improved by 15%, SA has stayed the same, and the aussies have fallen from 100% to still very respectable and impressive 83%.

in the inter-SANZAR wars all the home teams won this round, with force and the lions bringing up two huge upsets.

blues 40 vs 30 cheetahs
brumbies 25 vs 15 stormers
force 18 vs 15 chiefs
lions 23 vs 20 reds

and this takes the over all record too,,,

NZ are 5 from 12 - 41%
SA are 6 from 13 - 46%

OZ are 6 from 9 - 66%

OZ still have a good lead over their SANZAR bros, so nice work from the aussie conference, :o)

Home field advantage proving a significant factor. NZ has won 4 of 6, Aus 5 of 6 and SA 6 of 6 against the foreign invaders.

I thought the thread reference was to the budding referee wars...

I think this weekend game sharks v tahs will be very telling as to who will end up getting the home semi... big call I know but these two clearly the form teams and the kiwis seem to be resting on their laurels... lets see if ABs suffer the same fate.

Redsman theirs a big difference between super rugby and test rugby. Having form early on does not always translate into guareenteed test form. Go back to 2002 for e.g. Crusaders wan Super Rugby, so AB coach at the time decided to put 14 of the crusaders lineup in the starting xv, and it was a disaster. Point is form by some players and teams so early on, in no way determines test rugby form.

it was a saffa vs the world (or NZ and OZ) round today in round 7, with a very even result. one win, one loss and one draw.

home advantage is still everything though, of the 20 inter-SANZAR rumbles, the home team has only lost three of those, and the saffa conference is the only conference who have successfully defended their shores from the invading OZ and NZ armies.

record as of rnd 7 is now,,,

the saffa teams had a busy inter SANZAR weekend and it was a pretty sad outing.
with their only top team the sharks away on a bye.
of the four saffa teamsone had a bye and the other three all lost.

australia are still going strong though, they are by far the best conference at the moment, so kudos to them, its about time, lolz.

anway i have added the results of the inter SANZAR rumbles and ive also added a few extras on the winning percentages to join the overall and home games, in the form of head to head and away records

good weekend for the kiwi teams winning all three of their intersanzar matches, and another tough rnd for the saffa teams who are struggling, especially outside of SA.

home advantage is everything though, with all teams winning more then half of their battles on the homefornt, but of all three conferences its the saffas who look the most vulnerable.

aussies still have a number of intersanzar matches to go, and that is bound to change the landscape, or maybe not???
i think can their be little doubt at the moment that the aussie conference is the toughest at the moment, key word being the moment.

an other ouchie round for the saffa teams who lost both their SANZAR battles in rnd 11, this is reflected on the ladder where saffa team is in the top 9, o_O

were over the half way mark with the regular season now, and NZ are leading in all but of the categories.
they have been improving every round now, but the aussies to their credit have more SANZAR games to play under their belt.

there were two upset wins this round though, and both were serious ass whippings to the chiefs and sharks courtesy the brumbies and highlanders.
