After you said the Crusaders had the strongest scrum in Super 15 - I watched them carefully tonight.  Their scrummaging was a complete mess and theyeven lost a tighthead as well as givingaway a number of penalties.  The Crusaders were indeed lucky to win the game against the Waratahs.

 No Franks, no Flynn, no Crockett (for a big chuck), no Whitelock - that was not the 'Saders normal scrum - I doubt that came into your consideration.

Missing Mighty Stormers in the pack - no Tiaan for most of season, Malherbe, Bekker, Elstadt, Rhodes, Vermuelen and Burger.

How about taking that into consideration poooooie

Great kick from Barnes under pressure there. First name on the team sheet for the Lions series surely...

 Sorry Beeno - I thought the thread title was referring to Warratahs/Crusaders match - If 'Choking little bitches' was mentioned in the thread title I might have addressed your points.

Beeno. Forgive them they are just being well Kiwi's. Just like we are South Africans and will make excuses for our teams as well.  You got to know them and realise just like we and the aussies have certain traids they have the same and sarcasm goes further than attacking each other on a personal basis

With respect I beg to differ from you - in the first half Crocket was there - as well as Flynn - so only Franks was missing.   I doubt vey much whether Whitelock would make any difference to the scrummaging.   It was in th firt half when the scrummaging was really ugly - in the second half it was slightly better - so I still think saying the Crusaders have the best scrum in Super 15 is a bit far-fetched.

Cheka subbed the half back and first five of a Warratah backline that was humming!

Then the trailling Waratah forward pack decided to try and milk a penalty (Negative Rugby) at the scrum instead of launching a full out attack and then maybe a drop goal with the seconds ticking - watching Barnes miss that penalty was poetic justice really for running rugby! With Folau in the side, one would have thought they would run it to win it and maybe also get a bonus point!

@mikey,
ur right, the crusaders scrum didnt preform, but like poi-e said, no franks and no whitelock and then they lost crocektt and flynn.
even though they had flynn and crockett in the first half, thats still not the same pack and i beg to differ about whitelocks contribution too, be that as it may, it wasnt all one way traffic to the waratahs, not bad considering the 6 wallabies in their pack.
BTW even if franks and sam whitelock was playing the whole 80mins last night, it wouldnt deter the fact that for over the last month, theres hasnt been a stronger scrum performance by any team like the crusaders, one swallow dosent make for spring buddy.

crusaders were lucky to win that game though, i thought for sure barnes was going to nail that penalty kick.
cheicka made a huge error subbing off mcibbin and horne, especially mcibbin whose partnership with foley was leading the attack the crusaders struggled to contain.
given the momentum they had and the 22-10 lead, im sure he thought barnes and lucas would go all right, but he underestimated the crusaders and the crusaders bounced back for a good but lucky win.

was a little disappointed by birds performance and what shit luck to be injured like that, crusaders were just starting too get over their early season injury pinch, but like a rollercoaster, it looks to be back on the rise again.
i wonder whats the story with tom donnoley??? cos he would make a very suitable replacement while bird and whitelock are out injured.
|i also hope reads all right, not for the crusaders, but for the All Blacks, too many green faces if he were to be unavailable for the All Blacks.
