 ...One week for a yellow card offence is a bit harsh...players are colliding when competing for the ball all the time...contact is part of the game...
To quote Justin Marshall   "For me, Naholo was trying to get the ball and he used his shoulder to protect himself from the other player. The Bulls player was hit high but I believe that's just part of game."

Naholo had intent. He followed through, could have pulled out or softened the blow.

Like golf, rugby is now well lawyered. Instead of serving as a confirmation of the on field refs instincts...inocuous incidents are interjected by video refs. I have seen more meaningful neck rolls in my prep school playground than some that are being blown up every week. And as we see with Lambie and MattTodd, all this stuff is doing little to limit concussions.

I do not agree with the one week suspension of Naholo.   He should a t least have got two weeks.
However, the shoulder-charge by Snyman aimed directly at the head of the Highlandersplayer in the maul fully justified a 4 week suspension.    It was stupid and non-thinking and more dangerous than the Naholo case was.

A different set of rules apply to them. On and off the field.
