Yes definitely. Got myself into a bit of a situation where I suddenly found I was involved in 57 matches ... all at the same time. Needless to say that that was a bit of an eye opener and my rating took a bit of a dive. 

Lesson learnt ... I'm trying to limit myself to around 12 or so matches at a time now.

All good on this side, mate. Been doing a fair bit of local travel....this country never ceases to amaze me. Hoping to visit CT at the end of this year and I'm going to time it so as to take in the 7's and Queen's Plate at Kenilworth. Don't know if you follow the GG's but I was stoked after picking the winner of the SunMet.

Chess is good, I only play tournaments and I've done reasonably well....out of 5 I've made it to the next round in 3 .....my rating has moved along to 1630...best site I've ever played on. I don't play one off games anymore. Think the tournaments provide a nice incentive and keep me busy with the variety of timezones.

Found that when playing too many games I seem to lose a bit of edge, as a matter of fact my game became stale in some cases outright losing a Queen or being mated because I'm too lazy or careless to do an analysis.

Yeah ... I know what you mean. It's difficult to focus and analyze each game when there's so many.

1630? Nice. Takes effort to get there. It's even tougher to remain there.

Myself ... I too only play tournaments. I've moved through to the next round with three of them. Sadly they're all 3 day tournaments so there's no telling when the tournament will eventually be concluded. I should have heeded your advice. No matter ... still enjoying this brilliant game. Learnt a lot from some of these top notch boys.

Nah ... never been into betting on horses. Congrats on your win. That must have been exciting.
